The Deck : Sunday Afternoon

"You should put sunscreen on, Theo."

"It isn't that hot," Dev complained, holding a hand up to his eyes like he was actually exposed to the sun. "A little sun can do him some good!"

"Or it could permanently harm his skin!" Ange argued back, scrolling through a few pieces of paper that she had in her hands. "I've read up on human illnesses caused by the sun. They're not good."

Dev groaned loudly. "You act like Theo's going to stand naked in the sun for hours on end! He's not! And he's already ghostly! This could make him not almost be see through!"

Theo groaned and dropped his face in his hand. It was one thing when Ange and Dev argued, it was another when they argued and criticized him. Sure, he knew they didn't mean and there was nothing malicious about it but not now he was going to be paranoid about how pale he was. He looked down at one of his arms and frowned. It didn't look that bad to him. He was pale but it could be worse.

Couldn't it?

Theo sighed and let his head thump back against the chair he'd taken a seat in. Even if he wanted to put on sunscreen, he couldn't because he didn't have any. He'd come outside to hopefully get some fresh air and maybe relax but apparently Ange and Dev had other ideas.

Theo was just going to close his eyes and try and tune them out. It was pretty hot but it wasn't unbearable. They could fight and he'd try and not to listen even if he knew he'd inevitably be pulled into the argument somehow.

That was how it worked.

[Open, ofc]
