Camelot Castle Campfire, Saturday Morning

Jun 15, 2013 15:08

It was not every day that Envy Adams found herself waking up in a bouncy castle. In fact, it had been around two decades since she'd last done it. And yet here she was. And admittedly, she'd felt far more dignified in her life than she did when she was clambering out of the plastic monstrosity, but her grace stats were pretty high by now. She ( Read more... )

"You know, I have interdimensional teleportation technology available at the drop of a hat. Actually, no hat needed. It could stay on your head or never be bought, it doesn't matter. I could literally get to any location in the multiverse in just a few minutes," Jessica complained as she walked up to the first person she saw outside of the bouncy castles. Sorry, Envy, you were getting the rant. "And instead of that, I end up here half a day earlier than planned in a bouncy castle because that makes all kinds of sense, why not? Hi. How's it going?"

Envy had had a lot of people rant at her over the years. Luckily her character had mellowed enough that she had other reactions available than just an icy glance. Like... a milder look over. A less sharp raise of her brow.

"It's Fandom, sweetie," she said. "You should've seen it coming."

"I knew it was possible. That doesn't make it less annoying," Jessica said as she slipped her SHIELD communicator into her ear. She needed to know if there were any emergencies going on before she could actually get comfortable here this morning. "The bouncy castle really doesn't make it less annoying."

"Guess the island wanted to really breed some nostalgia in us." Envy was actually not that annoyed by this turn of events. Okay, the bouncy castles were purely ridiculous, but other than that. "Not that I'm saying it's working."

She wasn't feeling nostalgic. Just weird.

"Is it still nostalgia if you didn't really care for your time in a certain spot?" Jessica asked. "If the island really wanted me to feel better about this, it would've dropped me in my old dorm room. That would probably scare whoever's in there now, but you have to break some eggs."

"I didn't say the island necessarily wanted to make you feel better." Hell, her own nostalgia was mixed at best. She'd been a whole different person here. "But you could always storm the dorms and see if that helps."

"At this point, I'm here, I'll deal with it," Jessica said. "But just so you know? Storm the Dorms would be a fantastic name for an album. If you use it, I just ask to be included in the 'thanks.'"

"I'll pass that on the next time we sign someone aimed for the college or high school crowd."

That was maybe a little dry. That was not all that surprising.

"If it happens, can I get a free album download?" Jessica checked.

"Probably."

Of course, you couldn't necessarily expect her to remember something like that.

"It's not a huge loss, saleswise."

"That's a slippery slope. Now I'm going to start asking for a lot more free music," Jessica noted.

Envy gave that a soft snort. "Well, then you'll have to contact my people and convince them you're worthy of special privileges."

... That would actually be entertaining. She enjoyed watching people try to argue with her people.

"Eh, that's too much work. I'll just have my tech guys get it off the internet," Jessica decided.

"I always knew I should have hired Topher to design our DRM protocols."

That was a joke.
