"Good evening," Ulrik greeted cheerfully. "And what is on tonight?" he asked, gesturing at the TV.

"That's a good question, man," Jim said, glancing up at Ulrik. He kept hitting the button to change the channel. "I haven't found anything interesting yet. It's kinda sad."

[Sorry, passed out hard just before this ping came through.]

"How do you define interesting, then?" Ulrik had to know.

[ooc: THAT'S FINE I will just make you SP if you're up for that :D]

"Able to keep my attention for more than five minutes," Jim quipped, flipping a few more channels. "So far, the closest I've come is some movie where a zombie blew up a tank."

[Totally up for it!]

"And what, precisely, is a 'zombie'?"

"Dead person come back to life," Jim said around a mouthful of cereal. "They usually wanna eat brains or skin or something. Sounds appetizing, doesn't it?"

Yeah, right.

"Sounds slightly blasphemous," Ulrik said, making a bit of a face. "Please tell me it's just fiction?"

"Well..."

He weighed the pros and cons of what to tell Ulrik about things like that. He came from a place where aliens were chummy (sometimes) with humans. Hard to disbelieve in zombies.

"Honestly, I'd never say anything is fiction. Better to keep an open mind so not to be freaked out."

Yeah, clearly Ulrik had yet to set foot in Caritas. "I don't know, I think this place has a way of surprising even the openest of minds."

"Yeah, I think we can agree on that," Jim said and even gave a little salute with his spoon. "Besides, I don't think you have to worry about zombies too much. From what I've seen, they're kinda...slow.:

"That's a relief," Ulrik said. "Because I'd really rather like to keep my brains inside my head and off someone else's plate."

"You find me one person that doesn't want that and I'll be shocked," Jim snickered, finally settling on...some sort of movie. There was blood and guns. It looked promising. "You go to the picnic today? Am I the only one that missed it?"

"Quite possibly," Ulrik said with a nod. "It was quite a crowd- or perhaps it just felt that way, given the weather. The majority of us spent the day huddled around a bonfire."

"Cold, huh?" Stating the obvious there, Jim. "Anyone good in the new bunch? I mean, obviously, it's gonna be hard to to my group because of me but, you know."

He was pretty damn shameless.

"There was a girl from even farther up-time than you," Ulrik shared. "Or, at least. Her pet dinosaur was. I'm not sure if that means she was as well."

Jim glanced over at Ulrik for a second. "How is a dinosaur a pet? Aren't they huge?"
