Victor had no idea what he was doing in a tent in the woods.

Well, in an absolute sense he did. His laptop battery was dying, so he was forcing himself to leave the electronics behind and enjoy ... nature.

Never mind that nature, other than the odd afternoon at the beach, was absolutely not his thing.

"Think they're really going to make us stay out here for weeks?" he asked, plopping down by the campfire. "I'm not feeling it."

"Well, they did last year. Except we were in cabins then," Dave said, giving a shrug. "But it could be worse. Could be the whole summer."

"If they made it the whole summer, I'd be back in L.A. in about five minutes," Victor said, halfway meaning it. "But I could do a cabin. How come we don't have cabins anymore?"

"There was some... weirdness at the campsite last year," Dave said. "Just as a head's up, if you see any strange glowing space rocks, don't touch them, okay?"

"Oh, good," Topher said, flopping down on a log near Dave. "Make me some?"

"Come on, Topher," Dave encouraged. "You can make some yourself."

Topher gave him a Look.

"Come on," he said. "You know I can't."

"You just put marshmallows between graham crackers and hold it by the fire for a little bit. You do things that are more complicated things than that all the time," Dave said.

Kenzi wandered out of her cabin and over to the fire, a bag of marshmallows in hand. "Oooo, chocolatey goodness. Sharing?"

"The only rule is that you have to make your own," Dave said, gesturing toward the supplies. "Otherwise it's setting a bad example for Topher. And a bad precedent."

"Yeah, I can see how that would set a bad example," Kenzi said, smirking over at Topher. She grabbed some chocolate and said, "Let's just hope for no evil meteors this year. They did a good job with the re-build, but..."

"I had to explain that to the new guy," Dave said, nodding toward Victor. "Fortunately, he seems like the kind of person who won't go poking at the clearly dangerous glowing rock. The more people like that around here, the better."
