Rilla was there with glitter in her hair (that she didn't know about) and a worried look on her face. The 'phone messages she'd received had been too bizarre.

"You have a little..." Annie pointed out, gesturing to her own hair. It was amazing that between this and StuCo, no one had glitter permanently affixed to them yet.

"Think of it this way. It's like taking a little bit of the party with you everywhere you go," she said. The optimism was strong with this one, since glitter sometimes didn't even come off in the shower not that the player would know that or anything.

"I feel like some sort of lost fairy princess with it trailing after me," Rilla declared. She gave up on trying to get it all out of her hair and looked sympathetically at Annie instead. "The radio said you had some bad news?"

"Oh," she said, rolling her eyes like it was totally not a big deal when it was totally a huge deal. "I got turned down for a scholarship. ...A couple scholarships, actually. But it's okay! I'm sure one of the others I applied for will come through."

"Well, most places- I guess not here-" Or possibly Greendale, but give her a few months. "-you need a degree to start with to get the job. Plus the economy... I'd pretty much have to get a dead end job, probably in food service, to help pay for it while racking up so many student loans that I'll never get my head above water again."
And for a second, having experience in food service, she considered it.

Annie winced. "Well... I mostly applied to Ivy League schools, so... a lot. But! But I got into Colorado State so if I can just scale it down a little, it's not as bad."

And Annie had her concerned, too.
