2nd Floor Common Room, Monday Evening

Mar 05, 2012 18:10

The television was on in the common room. And there was a tiny god watching it.

That was not the strange part of what was happening, though. The strange part was what was on the television. It was a channel that proclaimed itself to be 'Logo' and the players upon the stage were men in dresses and made up as though they were women. And yelling at ( Read more... )

Bruce had done a terrible job being a 'big sibling' so far this semester. So when he was heading back to his room after a quick run around town, heard the TV on the second floor, and saw who was in the common room, he decided to make a detour.

"Good evening, everyone," Bruce said. And then he took a quick look at the TV itself. "...What are you watching?"

"It is called 'RuPaul's Drag Race'," Loki replied brightly. "They are quite upset with one another."

Which was a nice way of saying there were bitchfights going on.

"Any punches thrown so far?" Bruce asked. "Or wig-pulling?"

Loki zeroed in on how to get Bruce interested pretty quickly.

"Just slander as of yet." Though he cheered to the thought of a fistfight erupting. It could be interesting while they wore heels.

"It might not happen this week, but I'm positive there's going to be a fight eventually. That's how they get you to come back every week," Bruce said. He'd watched 30 seconds of the show so far. He was making that assumption anyway.

Of course, he figured all reality shows would end up in fistfights. That's what being from Gotham did to you.

"I usually assume every reality show will have at least one," Bruce said. "I don't watch them enough to know if I'm right, but it makes the whole thing a little more entertaining for me."

Loki hummed. "I can only hope they have this upon the bay of piracy. Did you know they place their shows online for all to see them? It is quite clever."

And illegal.

"And illegal," Bruce said. "So I tend to avoid it. Also, I don't trust sites like that. I assume I'm going to get some kind of malware from them."

Yes, he was going for both the legal and rational/paranoid reasons to avoid it.

"Is it?" NOW SOMEONE TELLS HIM. "Why would they allow them to?"

"Mainly because it's tough to enforce," Bruce said. "And if people think they can get away with something, many will regardless of the laws."

"Even if you thank them, it's illegal?" Yes, that made all the difference.

"Yes," Bruce said. "Even if you're very polite about it."

Bruce wasn't sure why thanking would make a difference anyway, but Loki was clearly still learning some things.

"What about the YouTube?"

"Most of that is allowed under fair use," Bruce said. "And anything that violates copyright is taken down quickly. Or the copyright holder will let it stay up as free publicity."

Bruce. And your legal knowledge.

"I will continue to watch that then," he decided.
