After waking up to a snarky argumentative argument to cover up whatever akwardness was going on there, Matt made a quick exit and headed to the roof to try and get some fresh air.

Only to hear a girl muttering about... did she say 'giant toads'?

"Someone else up here?" Matt asked tapping his cane on the ground as he navigated himself onto the roof.

Kate halted her pacing at another voice. Her quiet spot, wasn't as quiet as she'd expected it might be. "Yes. But it's a free roof."

"I'm not completely against company."

"Are you sure?" Matt asked gesturing with his cane to the entrance. "I know how important it is to be alone with your thoughts at times."

"Too much alone time, way too many thoughts," Kate assured him, giving him a quick once over then mentally chastising herself for the direction of her own thoughts.

"I was starting to run out."

Matt gave Kate a little chuckle and a grin.

"Well if you want company I should probably introduce myself," he replied. "Matt Murdock from New York."

"Kate Daniels, Atlanta," she offered in return, raising a hand in half a wave, before realising that was probably dumb around someone using a stick to see.

"Points for actually coming from somewhere I've heard of." A fair number of people around here didn't.

Matt tried to hide his grin at Kate's wave as he... well scanned her with his echo location.

Which is the blind-guy-but-has-superpowers-way of checking her out.

"Oh, I'm scoring points now," Matt said cheerfully as he did a little stretch of his arms and back. "What would I have gotten if I was just some guy from the boondocks of Kansas?"

"I feel like I should say less..." But, she twitched a small smirk. "But considering I've lived in boondocks of Georgia, I probably shouldn't throw stones."

"Maybe I should lay out some kind of system."

"I won't judge you from being from the boondocks if you won't judge me for never being out of New York until I came here," Matt said finding a comfortable spot to lean up against the wall. "So how exactly would I score using this type of system?" he asked.

"Still a work in progress," Kate informed him, finding herself a convenient wall to slouch against nearby. "Any suggestions?"

See, now he had a chance to up his points without even trying.

"Well I'm think being New York should probably score at a higher amount," Matt said with a sly grin. "Then again maybe should focus more on... more personable attributes when trying to rate someone."

"Charm, intelligence and a good sense of humor?" she suggested. That was what a typical mix, right? Kate was hardly an expert, but that sounded about right.

"Well I think I can at least rate myself high on the intelligence part," Matt joked. "Either that or I'm studying way too much for my own good. I'll have to let you decide on the remaining two."

"You haven't taken offense to me yet, and have me listing attributes to support you scoring points," she pointed out. That boded well, surprisingly enough.

"Some would say that's proof of something."

"Oh?" Matt asked as he twirled his cane a bit. "See, I'm not so sure. Why exactly would I find you offensive?"

"Some people tell me I'm annoying." She shrugged. At least she was completely honest about that. Though she did smirk and add, "I wouldn't know why."

Because she was a smart-ass, that was why.
