Second floor common room- Thursday night

Feeling particularly social today, Stacey had gone into the common room and made popcorn. She'd even made sure there was moddable popcorn seasoning available in case anyone else wanted some, and she could even put some on hers and not have to worry about it. Go Team Diabetes

Matt decided to take a break from his studies and following the smell of popcorn led him to the second floor.

"Hi," he called out as he walked into the room using his cane to guide him. "Who's here?"

"Stacey," she replied with a smile. Which, okay fine, he couldn't see. Not the point. "Hi there."

"I'm Matt," he said returning the smile that he couldn't see. "Do I smell popcorn and-"

He paused a second a tilted his head to listen. "What in the world is on TV?"

"That reality show with the orange people," she frowned, picking up the remote again. "I think the remote's broken, I can't get it off."

"Orange people?" Matt asked. "Did they turn orange before or after they lost all their common sense?"

Stacey paused. "I'm not sure which happened first, really..." she said. "I'm sure they go hand in hand somehow."

"Then I'm just going to blame genetics," Matt joked. "Have you tried changing the channel at the set itself?"

The he cracked another grin? "Or is it just too far away from the couch?"

"I," she said with a smile, "am sometimes lazy."

Besides, she used to have to change the channel by getting up and who wanted to go back to those days?

"We could try throwing things at the TV and see if we get lucky," Matt suggested/joked. "Or I could try and poke it with my cane."

"I think we're a little more mature than throwing things at the TV," Stacey said, and paused. "Think the cane would work?"

"Bet I could turn it off from here," Matt said waving the cane a little in his hand.

Though the distance from the TV and the couch, the cane wouldn't even reach.

"I'll even do it with my eyes closed."

"Bet you can't," Stacey grinned.

"Oh?" Matt said now twirling the cane a little bit. "What's the bet then?"

This was going to end in something bad happening to her.

"I don't know," she said, oh so casually. Because acting desperate was sad. "What would you want if you won?"

Matt pretended to think it over. "Winner takes the other one our for pizza?"

Oh, Stacey. This is Matt. Of course it'll end badly.

Oh no. Processed cheese.

"How about Outback?" she suggested. It made her options a lot easier.
