Fourth Floor Common Room [Saturday afternoon]

The newbies had been on the island for an entire week! Rapunzel was pretty sure that at least some of them had to be feeling overwhelmed.

Besides, she hadn't had a chance to meet most of them!

But that was okay. Rapunzel had a solution to both of those problems! Baking. Lots and lots and lots of baking! Cookies, brownies, muffins, and ( Read more... )

Okay, the free food? Definitely one of the things Bobby had missed about Fandom. So was it any surprise that the smell of baking lured him up a floor?

"You're sharing, I hope?" he asked.

"Bobby!"

Yes, Karla had seen in him Visor-Boy's class (sorry, Scott, but she'd met a different version of you first) but there hadn't been a chance for a proper greeting. Not since Christmas which had been failsauce for me.

Which meant there was going to be a serious tackle-hug aimed his way. One liberally dusted with flour. And perhaps the odd egg or two.

Bobby was never one to turn down a good tacklehug, of course. "That's my name," he told Karla cheerfully. "Don't wear it out."

"That was one of the dorkiest things I've ever heard you say," Karla informed him, delivering the promised tacklehug. "Which is quite the feat, considering how many dorky things I've heard you say."

She said, while hugging him hard enough to possibly inhibit breathing.

Sure, Karla, it wasn't like he was using those lungs anyway...

"Are you calling me a dork?" he asked, feigning outrage.

"Of course not!" Karla protested.

"...Calling you that means that it's just my opinion. It's more like I'm proclaiming your innate dorkishness for all and sundry to know about."

"I think," Bobby said slowly, "that by dorkishness you actually meant awesomeness."

"I'm almost positive that's not true," Karla said thoughtfully. "Nope. Pretty sure I meant dorky."

"You don't think I'm awesome?"

Look at that wibbleface, Karla. LOOK AT IT.

"I think you can be both dorktastic and awesome at the same time," Karla assured him. "They're two sides of the same coin. Or something."

"Or something?" Bobby echoed. "You don't sound very sure about that."

"The metaphor was weak," Karla decided. "But I'm sure you followed."

Rapunzel giggled. And then tried to look serious and severe.

"No. There isn't enough."

Really. That was her believable face.

Which Bobby was going to counter with his very best pout, of course.

"Not even for a poor, starving student?" he asked mournfully.

Ooooh! That was a good pout! It was totally enough to get Rapunzel to flail worriedly.

"I was just kidding!" she said quickly. "There's totally enough to share!"

She was sorry for teasing you, Bobby!

...And of course, now Bobby felt bad for making Rapunzel feel bad.

"You had me worried for a second there," Bobby said, trying to keep a straight face. And kind of failing, judging from the smile twitching at the edges of his lips.
