It was Halloween, and you know what that meant: time was up! Either people had
decorated their doors for the contest or they hadn't. Or they'd left it to the last minute, were mid-process, and were about to get a shock, because it was time for the judging to happen. And no, no extensions allowed.

He had decorated the wall next to the door with a sign that read "DOOR" in bold letters, with a helpful arrow pointing to it.

Sure, it wasn't very spooky, but Butters felt Halloween should be more fun than scary!

Some people from a galaxy far far away might think of a sarlaac pit. Especially with the teeth Kenzi and Bart studded the door with.

The door had been covered in a black plastic tablecloth, with one of those hanging HAPPY HALLOWEEN signs draped across it in orange (admittedly that would have looked better if the door was wider), and various store bought cut-out decorations taped to it. But if you thought it was just a mishmash of stuff, oh no, the cut-outs all made sense. There were pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns towards the bottom of the door, along with a black cat, and a moon in the sky that was really just a moon cut in half because there'd been a witch riding a broom on the other half of it and she was afraid of offending real witches.
And above the doorknob was a simple sign reading "DO NOT LICK" with no explanation.

And all of that was done in a desperate plea to distract from Topher's contribution to the door, an unflattering picture of Stephanie Brown. Because the door needed a spooky face. Nothing was going to distract from that, was it?
Dave was so sorry. if it helped, he at least tried to make sure it was the least unflattering picture Topher had? He didn't think that would help, no.

It was perhaps significant that none were coming the other way.
She'd added a border of black cats to the bottom and felt good about it.

Her door (and Jims', though he had been less helpful) had been covered in white paper. She'd hung a wreath made of yarn from it, along with a black bucket neatly labeled "treats", which she'd filled with homemade goodies sent from Susan, her cook and housekeeper from home.
Cookies and maple candy for everyone!
