Wasn't it refreshing to be having today's Reserves meeting outside? Outside in the sunshine, with the trees turning and the soft tickle of pollen on the breeze

After a demonstration like that, Alexander was almost too afraid to even so much as mood, having a bad feeling about how the sorts of thoughts he was having would wind up for him.
Still,it was just combat, right? What...could possibly go wrong?

Scully gave him a glum, yet puzzled look. "I do too. Somewhat." She wasn't sure if someone would push them in, or if... whatever was bugging her would just aim her toward it. She gave the mud a distrustful glance. "Right. So. Have a nice weekend?"
Re: Pair off and Fight!daventryprinceNovember 10 2010, 01:00:03 UTC
"...er, yes," said Alexander, who had been looking at the mud and considering the scenario he suspected and getting rather distracted by it. "Yes, I did. There was a great deal of singing on Friday, both intentional and not so much, but Saturday was nice and quiet. How was yours?"
Re: Pair off and Fight!showmetheproofNovember 10 2010, 01:02:06 UTC
"My singing is terrible," Scully said, as flatly as her singing voice. "And I still was forced to do it. I'm sure the Island is sorry now. Saturday I spent recovering and reading. And my roommate is no longer a vixen, for which I'm relieved."
Re: Pair off and Fight!showmetheproofNovember 10 2010, 01:25:53 UTC
Scully turned red to match her hair. "I didn't mean-- yes, that sort! What, you thought I meant she was running around in some saloon-girl costume and seamed stockings? Or some kind of leather catsuit?"
Rosalind would almost certainly prefer the latter.

Thank you, Scully, for those wonderful visuals. Especially for the fact that, since Alexander didn't know who Scully's roommate was, his only choice was to have Scully in those visuals.
"Well," he admitted, "I certainly didn't, er, um..." Cough. "Think of a fox right away, I must admit..."
Re: Pair off and Fight!showmetheproofNovember 10 2010, 01:36:28 UTC
Scully would be flattered and headdesky at that, although her own brain wasn't behaving any better, having come up with vixen instead of fox. Fox meant... something else to her. And why was Alexander looking so cute today?
"Yes, well. Anyway." She rubbed at her face, still red. "Does today seem really warm or something to you?"
Re: Pair off and Fight!showmetheproofNovember 10 2010, 01:42:55 UTC
"Maybe we're getting sick." Hmm. That would account for ... well, not the hormone rushes, but just the edginess and the heat. Right? Wouldn't it? Scully tilted her head back to sigh. "Weird ... atmosphere today. Maybe it's the weather."
Definitely the weather. Fandom foreboding weather. Did they have that?

"Allergies, or something like it?" Alexander mused, focusing on it far more than he should have, because he was trying to keep his thoughts on a more normal topic. "Something in the air, perhaps..."

That, Alexander felt, needed more explanation.
And he tried to not sound too disappointed by the news, despite not even knowing who Scully's roommate was.

"Rosalind turned into a little black fox last Sunday, and was one until later in the week. She went to half my classes and everywhere else like that."
Restless, Scully paced around, and glared at the mud puddle.
Darn you, narrative convenience device!
