Fifth Floor Common Room, Saturday morning

Bruce was just going to walk past the common room and back to his dorm after his morning run, but a glance into the room meant that he saw one of the more bizarre sights he'd seen recently. Roy came to the common room after his morning run in search of water and, possibly, breakfast. He headed for the sink without a word to anyone beyond maybe a grunt, and was halfway through refilling his water bottle when he noticed something...waving at him from the counter. "Huh," he said. "Hands." Very observant, Roy, yes. "Hey," he called to the room at large, "When did we get hands?"

"Eh," Roy said with a shrug. "Anything I'd care about them stealing is locked up anyway." Then he looked down at the hand on the counter and said, "Don't steal my stuff," just in case it could understand him. But how could it understand him? It was a hand! It didn't have ears!

"It's been suggested that they have sensors or feelers in their fingers," Bruce said. "Or it could just be some kind of magic. You can't rule that out around here."

"Yeah," Roy agreed. "Could go either way. I guess it doesn't really matter, as long as they don't steal my stuff." He was practical like that.

In actuality it always drove him a little crazy, but he was learning to push the frustration down. He didn't have the resources to know everything yet. But someday....
