Farewell Slumber Party, 6th Floor, Wednesday Night

By now, Karla was used to throwing parties at school. The set-up was easy enough: lots of food, lots of drinks, lots of games and activities, lots of space. There were some streamers and balloons up, mostly because Karla was trying to remind everyone (or, at least, herself) that this was supposed to be a happy occasion

Leda arrived, seedybox in hand. The seedybox was a magical version of a cd player/i-pod. It had speakers and contained a wide variety of moddable music.

Her hair, which had been growing out a bit, was black, but there were tiny pinpoints of light throughout it, like a night sky. She'd worked very hard on it.

"Nice effect," Karla said, admiring the style. "How are you getting those little bits to glow like that?"

A compliment worked very well for a greeting, thank you.

It worked for Leda. "Thanks. Magic mostly. I bit of glamour I worked out when I was trying to make leopard spots."

"Way cooler than leopard spots," Karla decided. "So if anyone else asks, this was totally the look you were going for."

"Good decision to make the change, then," Karla said, dryly.

"In Kaeleer, it's the lady's privilege to sleep with whom she likes, so long as he is willing," Karla said. "Though doing it for money is still generally frowned upon."

"What if it's the lady who's doing the paying?" Leda asked impishly.

"At a Red Moon House?" Karla asked. "Still dreadfully not done. As part of a contract for a Court? Right as rain."

Now Leda was interested in a less dirty amusing kind of way. "What's the difference between the two?" she asked curiously.

"There are several positions in Court where sex is part of the job description," Karla said. "A Consort serves his Queen as a lover--among other duties, of course--and several of the lower Circles might have males who are willing to accommodate visiting Queens or nobility in a sexual capacity. Because these count as duties to the Court, their stipend pays for those services."

It sounded like a 'it's okay cause we're royalty' thing to Leda, but she decided to reserve judgment. "Hmm...not sure I could get that passed in Faerie."
