By mutual agreement, Karla and her parents decided not to talk about about what was going on in Glacia and why she was here at Fandom. They still wished to know and were biding their time; Karla had pretty much decided that telling them would be a waste of time. All they could do was feel bad about it.

She noticed the older woman trailing behind Sookie and stood to greet her. Even if Sookie hadn't told her already that her Gran was here, Karla could have guessed this was her. Not just the old (though that was a fair bit of evidence), but she could sense the bond between them.
"Greetings," she said, coming forward with a welcoming smile.

Then, feeling slightly nervous, Karla turned slightly towards her parents. "And may I ask for the honor of introducing you both to my parents?" She gestured to the table where her parents had risen at their entrance, but hadn't yet come forward.

Sookie, however, stepped forward a bit, studying the two people near the table. "Hello," she said politely, and not just because the woman who raised her was there. "It's very nice to meet you both."

"Mother, Father, may I introduce you to Mrs. Stackouse and her granddaugher, my friend, Miss Sookie Stackhouse." She turned a little red, calling Sookie 'Miss,' but...she hadn't ever introduced her parents to anyone, okay? It was weird!
"Sookie, Mrs. Stackhouse? This is my mother, Queen Ilyse, and my father, Prince Audric."

If it struck Ilyse as odd to grant such liberties to landens, she made no sign. which was good, or Karla might have kicked her, fancy manners or not.

Probably because Sookie's only friends in Bon Temps had been Tara and J.B. Side-effect of everyone thinking she was crazy.
