Main Campfire - Friday Night

Jun 19, 2010 10:52

A trip to Wonka's had been successful. That was why Edmund was sitting at the lit campfire with several boxes of Turkish Delight and why he was stuffing his face with the sweets. There was one box off to the side to share with anyone who might have wanted some, but otherwise the rest was his and his alone.

It was a cheerful Lindsay who wandered out to the main campfire, wearing a floral print dress. There was not a single cynical thought in her mind at the moment.

"Hello!" she said, bouncing slightly. "Are you sharing?"

"Lindsay," Edmund greeted. "There's a box there if you'd like," he replied. "You're more than welcome to join me."

"That is very kind of you. Thank you," Lindsay said, happily reaching for the box. "This day just keeps getting better."

"Anything is an improvement on the class we had this morning," Edmund pointed out between bites. "I don't think Constable Fraser's heart was in it." He sounded almost sad about that. "What else have you done with your day?"

"I thought class was fun today, though being outside for real would have made it better. I love nature," Lindsay told him. "And then I went shopping and bought this pretty dress."

She looked like she was going to church. Tomorrow she was probably going to burn the dress.

"It's a very nice dress," Edmund said, this time with his mouth full. He sprayed powdered sugar everywhere, then wiped his mouth with his arm. "I don't think I've ever seen you in a dress before though."

"Well, I decided I needed to change my wardrobe. It needs more pastels," Lindsay replied, not even bothered about the sprayed sugar. Life was too precious and short to be upset about such things.

"You should try more pink. Pink is a good girl's colour. It's very flattering."

"Pink is my favorite color!" Lindsay said, nearly squeeing.

"You could change your whole wardrobe to pink," Edmund suggested.

"That is a good suggestion! Maybe tomorrow." Good thing this would wear off by then. Lindsay was going to hate herself enough already for being so disgustingly chipper.

[and now I sleep, night!]

Thankfully, as misery loves company, Lindsay wasn't going to be the only one. "Tomorrow is best," he agreed. "When the shops are open. I'll wager that Professor Demon would be very impressed by a fully pink outfit in class on Wednesday."
