Ben still had a residual headache from the pounding music in Stark's earlier in the day, but he decided that it was nothing grilled sausages and marshmallows couldn't fix

Tim followed his nose out to the campfire where yummy things were cooking. "Whatever you're making smells awesome," he said.

"Sausage," Ben said, grinning. "So far, they haven't caught fire. I'm very pleased with myself. Want a few?"

"If you've got enough to spare," Tim said. He sat down on one of the logs and waved a hand. "I'm Tim, by the way."

"You always bring enough to spare around here," Ben said with a laugh. "Nice to meet you, Tim. I'm Ben. You're from the new crop of students, right?"

"I am!" Tim said. "Easy to spot the newbies, huh?"

"You all still have newbie scent," Ben teased. "And I've been here two years. I know most of the faces."

"I've been trying to shower that off," Tim said. "Two years? You must've seen a lot of strange things in that time."

Ben laughed. "You should see my family tree from my time here. It'll make your head explode."

"Are you related to Master Skywalker?" Tim asked.

[momslilassassin]

"He's my grandfather," Ben said, nodding. "Though my dad's older than he is by at least a couple decades. Timelines are fun. I also have an aunt who's my age, though she should be the same age as my dad, a cousin who's supposed to be fifteen years older who isn't, and a baby aunt who doesn't exist in any timeline but this one. I've drawn a chart."

"That's kind of insane," Tim said. "I can't even imagine what it's like."

"It makes the picnics interesting," Ben said with a little laugh. "You start wondering how many relatives could even be left. How have you been settling in?"

[boywonder03]

"Not too bad. But then, no family members have showed up," Tim said. Technically, this wasn't a lie. "I'd say I have it easier than your relatives."

[momslilassassin]

"They have to deal with Granddad," Ben said. "It's kind of a...special challenge."

[boywonder03]

"He's protective of the family?" Tim guessed.

[momslilassassin]

"And generally not still alive in most timelines," Ben added.

He left off the "and kind of an ass."
