Fifth Floor Common Room - Friday Evening

May 14, 2010 18:08

Tim decided to put Claire's lesson to use and make himself some dinner. He found the pot she'd been using, boiled water and added the pasta. And then added some more because he was pretty hungry and it didn't look like it would be a lot of food. And a little more, in case someone else wanted some.

"Agent Drake," Peter greeted, walking into the common room. He peered over at the pot. "You do realize how much you just made, right?"

"Agent Bishop," Tim replied. "Um. Enough?"

"Just wondering if you remembered that pasta tends to expand when cooked," Peter said. "But if there's too much, I'm sure I know a guy who can help take some off your hands."

Tim looked down at the pot. "Yeah, you might want to call him. How'd your week go?"

Robin, jamming to some music on his headphones came bopping into the common room.

He was trying to learn how to scat.

Tim's eyebrows went up at the sight of the frog, but he didn't see any point in speaking to someone so engrossed in their music.

Robin realized he had an audience and turned off the music.

"Hi! Are you one of the new students?"

"Yeah, hi!" Tim said. "I'm Tim. Are you a student, too?"

Bruce wasn't particularly hungry, but he had been a bit more unsocial than usual this past week. Therefore, he was going to spend Friday night in the common room.

From there, natural curiosity took over. "Evening, everyone. What's cooking?"

"I'll leave that answer to the chef," Peter said. "Personally I'm just glad I don't have to get my own dinner, now."

"You could have always ordered food if you didn't want to make something," Bruce said. "You're in Bishop's class, right? Unblinded Science?"

"That's right," Peter said. "I'm the TA. Peter Bishop." Might as well get that little factoid out of the way.

Dru was hungry. But before she attempted cooking, she figured it was worth it to do some scouting and see if anyone else had food to share.

One floor up, she got lucky.

"Hey," she said, recognizing Tim from Dean's class.

Scully recognized Dru from class, and gave her a small smile as she started to search the refrigerator for pasta sauce and cheese. "Hello. Do you know if it's possible to drop classes? Because I think I'd like to escape the one we had this morning."

Dru shrugged. "I'm not sure," she admitted. "Maybe you can ask but is it really worth it? I mean yeah, embarrassing and all. But I suppose there are worst ways to spend an hour."

"It could have been worse. We could have been doing katas the whole time." Not that Dru particularly minded doing them and in fact, practiced regularly.

"And least I'll use those eventually. I'm not sure there is any way to teach 'hooking up' in a classroom." Scully made a face, then gave Dru a considering look. "You and the instructor seemed to be talking about a ... common pasttime?" She didn't know how else to put it.

Scully had been considering cooking on the Second Floor, but decided to see if anyone else was already preparing anything on the other floors.

She smiled when she saw Tim, then raised her eyebrows. "Are we expecting an army?"

"Depends who you talk to," Tim said. "But I might've made more food than I needed. Want some?"

"Please. I didn't really want to walk into town for dinner." Scully sniffed the pasta steam and said, "I'll get a few things out of the refrigerator. Unless you're a prefectionist chef, and I shouldn't come any closer."

"Nah, it's my first time," Tim said. "Help is totally appreciated."
