Priestly was baking. Since he was generally an entrés kind of guy, this was something of a challenging prospect. Without Alfred's instructions, he might be lost. In which case, Dinah would get a meat cake for her birthday and Momoko would just have to be sad

After deciding that he'd had enough ice cream for the day (thus proving himself very much unlike his brother who could eat ice cream for hours on end), Jonas found his way out of his room and down one floor to see if anything was going on.

He shouldn't have been surprised to find baking. Glad he recognized Priestly at least, he said, "Are you baking to celebrate the semester's end?"

"Aaaaaamong other things," Priestly hedged. "Care to be a cookie guinea pig?"

"What sort of cookies?" he wondered, wandering closer and peering at the baking that was in progress.

"Very special cookies. Secret recipe."

"And you'd like me to test something that's a secret?" he asked, sounding a bit skeptical.

"Where's your sense of adventure, man?"

"Perhaps I left it in my room?" Jonas suggested, smiling a bit. "It's not something very unusual, is it?"

"Nah. It's like, chocolate chips and stuff. S'posed to be extra tasty."

"Then, I think I can be your...guinea pig," he said, making a face at the slang. He was glad he recognized it, at least, but it still seemed like an odd turn of phase. "Though, I don't think I look much like a guinea pig."

"It's a good thing we're not looking for visuals, then." Priestly grinned and held out a cookie. "Bon appetite, yo."

Jonas took the offered cookie and looked it over for a brief moment before taking a bite. He was relieved to find that Priestly had been right and that it did taste good. It almost put his ice cream of earlier to shame.

"Very good," he said once he'd finished that first bite. "Whatever you've put in these cookies is excellent. Sweet. I'm sure this sugar will keep me awake for a few extra hours."

Priestly's grin widened, pleased to hear that Alfred's secret recipes were serving him well. "Awesome! Best guinea pig ever."

"Considering it's my first time as a guinea pig, I doubt I'll top this experience," he said and finished the rest of the cookie. "If this is truly your first time baking this type of cookie, you've a natural talent for it."

"I've dabbled a bit, but I'm usually much more of a sandwich and sides guy. And it's the first time I've tried this recipe."

"What's made you step outside your comfort zone?" Jonas wondered since Priestly had said he there were other things contributing to his baking besides the end of the semester.

"I'm officially food guy for a party, tonight. Figured I'd break out some heavy hitters."
