4th Floor Common Room: Monday [3-15-10]

Helen took Kianah to the common room where the wee one would have a bit more room to run around like the 3 inch tall crazy fennec fox she was. It was amusing to watch her dash around, investigating everything and then periodically throw herself to the ground and rest before jumping up and dashing around again

"And what," asked Jack as he entered the room, "is that? Or is it a who?"

Because with this place...

"She is a fennec fox. Named Kianah," Helen said, watching her pet fondly.

[inthereflexes]

"So it's a pet? Not a student? Awww, she's so cute!" He squatted down, still a distance away. "Who's a little finicky fox? Huh? Who's a cute lil fox?"

"A pet, yes," Helen said, watching with amusement as Kianah tore around the room, yipping quietly before daring to approach Jack. "She's still barely a baby."

Jack waggled his fingers at the fox. "How long have you had her?" Awww, adorable!

"About a month," Helen said, watching as Kianah moved closer, looking for some petting. "Which makes her about 2 months old."

Skritches? Finicky fox wants some skritches? Because Jack is all about the skritches, aiming right for that area between those two huge cute ears. "She's such a tiny thing!"

Kianah was in her glories, chirruping happily.

"She'll only get to be about a pound and a half," Helen said. "She'll always be quite small."

"It's like an adorable lil fox thing. Really? That small? That's palmsized," he said to her. To the fox, he started speaking babytalk about how he could put her in his shirt pocket.

"Indeed," Helen said and watched in some amusement as Jack talked babytalk to Kianah.

"I could take you home, but I think my roommate and your mommy would get mad," he murmured to the thing, still in near-bliss from skritches. So tiny! So cute!

"I would indeed be upset," Helen said, without a trace of concern. She knew Kianah would come to her whenever she called.

"You should probably go back to your mom. Eventually." Jack let up on the skritches a bit.

Kianah chirruped as if she'd understood and dashed back to fling herself on Helen's lap and collapse there as if utterly exhausted from all the affection.

"She's adorable!" Jack waved at her as she curled up.

Helen nodded. "She is. I'm very glad Hinata talked me into getting a pet."
