Jonas was finished with classes for the week. Despite having been on the island for awhile now, having copious amounts of free time was still a foreign concept. He wasn't expected to volunteer everyday in preparation for his Assignment or to spend set amounts of time anywhere. He could just do what he wanted

Kate headed to the common room after Drake's class. It was totally vanilla pudding time.

"Hey Jonas. Anything good on the TV?" she asked, walking over to the fridge.

"Hello, Kate," Jonas said, glancing up from the book he'd been trying to read. "And I don't know, really. It landed on...something where people have been alternatively kissing each other and glaring at each other."

Soap operas were a mystery to him.

"I don't know if I'd consider it good so much as...confusing."

Kate chuckled, picking up two pudding cups from the fridge and then going to find a spoon. "It's afternoon on a school day. That is good TV, as far as I'm concerned."

"You're free to change it, though," Jonas said, waving the remote control in her direction. "I'm not a good judge of television programs. They're all fairly new to me."

The fire lizards weren't creeling with hunger yet, but it was getting late enough that Menolly realised she better put her gitar aside and start chopping meat before they got too hungry.

So with Beauty on her shoulder to supervise, Menolly made her way to the Common Room, smiling shyly at the people already there. "Hello," she said quietly, slipping past the couches towards the kitchen area.

"Hello," Jonas said, head coming up from one of the books and smile appearing. He didn't recognize her but that didn't much phase Jonas. He didn't recognize a lot of things. "How are you and your...?"

He didn't immediately recognize what she had on her shoulder but that wasn't going to stop him from studying it and trying to associate a name with it.

"Fire lizard," Menolly replied, glancing up to meet his eyes for a second then back away. "Her name's Beauty. I'm well. She's hungry. How are you?"

"Well, thank you." His eyes flicked to the fire lizard again and then back to her. "I've never seen an animal like her before. I've seen lizards but I didn't know they could be tame like that."

Firekeeper had little enough to do during the week, with both her classes over with. So wandering to different common rooms it was.

"Jonas, hello," she greeted, Blind Seer offering a nod in greeting of his own.

"Hello, Blysee. Hello, Blind Seer," Jonas said, giving them each a smile. "How are you both today?"

"Well enough," Firekeeper admitted. "Just- there is little to do. So, we look for company."

"You've found me. I don't know how I qualify as far as company goes but I'm here," he said, laughing a little. "Are you finished with classes for the week too? My last one was today."

"What's on?" Leda asked. She looked thoughtful, and glad of the distraction. She too was worried about next week's Dada class. "Something distracting and mindless I hope. Like Benny Hill."

"I don't know exactly what this," Jonas answered, giving his head a shake and then giving her a nod of greeting. "Hello. And I don't know what Benny Hill is either."

For all he knew, this could be Benny Hill.

"You're welcome to change it," he offered. "It's more background noise than anything."

"Benny Hill is this British show I saw once. Really funny. I think on purpose." She thought about changing it, but shrugged. "I wouldn't know where to look for something else anyway."

"Then, you and I can be confused at this show," Jonas said, snickering. "It's been on for awhile now and it's gotten impossibly confusing. People keeping yelling and crying and then going to bed with each other. I have no idea if there's a reason."

There was no scent of food that drew Jacob into the common room this time. Which was a bit sad, but there was noise and people there and that'd do.

"Hey," Jacob said as he wandered in, glancing at the television. "Anything worth looking at?" If not, he might have to raid the kitchen.

Jonas glanced up at the new arrival, giving him a smile of greeting. "I don't...think so. This show is really confusing and has includes bouts of crying, fighting and kissing all in the span of a few minutes."

[just about to commute home so AFK for a few!]

"Oh man, soap opera?" Jacob made a face and he was not so sneakily heading for the kitchen. "Don't even bother with that crap. There's got to be something better on."

"You'd probably be better of holding the remote," Jonas said, offering it to him. "I'm really just in over my head. I'm not familiar with a lot of these programs."
