Since the island was apparently heading into massive Christmas mood and totally insistent that she wear the elf costume no matter how many times she'd changed during the day, Momoko decided to do some practice Christmas baking in the common room. Finding a recipe online for Christmas cookies wasn't hard to do, and the ingredients were all there,

"...do I smell cookies?" Hayley asked, following her nose into the common room. She was not dressed as an elf. She wore a white shirt with suspenders and and jeans.

"Hiiii Hayley!" Momoko bounced a bit to get noticed and waved. "We're trying! I burned a bunch and now I've got help!" She pointed at the blue elf who was hopefully somewhere in the room. "Looks like you totally escaped being a Christmas elf today. Congratulations!"

"...I had to escape from it?" Hayley said, tilting her head. "I would've, if someone told me where they were getting them from!"

[heromaniac]

Momoko shrugged. "I have no idea! I woke up with mine on. And every time I changed to something else, I somehow ended up with this back on!" She waved a hand at her costume. "Totally weird! So how was your day, if you weren't an elf?"

"Oh, my day was just fine and dandy," Hayley said. "It's hard for days here to be bad,though. It seems like nothing really bad ever happens here. It's kind of amazin'."

[heromaniac]

"I totally love this place, too!" Momoko nodded enthusiastically. "Although I can't agree that nothing bad happens. I accidentally took an eggnog shower the other day and that was totally something bad!"

"...ewwwww," Hayley said, making a face. "That stuff is yucky." She shuddered. "That must've made you smell something awful."

[heromaniac]

"Well, I smelled like eggnog. Which normally I'd like, but not all over me. And I was all sticky! I spent the whole day trying to clean it off while my cat tried to lick it all off." Momoko sighed. "But I still love it here. If it was different, then I wouldn't have met so many great friends or learned so many things!"

Hayley giggled. "Nothin' wrong with gettin' licked," she said. "But yeah, this place is great... egg nog showers and all, I guess."

"Yep! The good with the bad!" Momoko agreed whole heartedly. "So, you going home for Christmas?"

Hayley shook her head quickly. "Oh, I hope not. I'd only go if the GCPD made me. And I don't think they will."

"Oh, sorry!" Momoko facepalmed. She forgot that not everyone had good homes to return to. "Well, there are always some people who don't go home, so you should have some company! Or are you going to a friend's?"

"I don't know. It's possible you've got a cold and can't smell anything, after all," Jaime teased.

"Please, this winter is mild compared to Gotham," Hayley said. "I definitely don't have a cold."

"Well, then, I'm betting on cookies."

"What're you betting? And what're the odds?" Hayley joked. "Don't just make silly bets, make 'em count!"
