The Roof [Thursday, After Classes]

Claire had picked up a few more gardening books at the library and decided to head up to the roof to check out what was there and what kind of space she might have to plant things for the fall.

It wasn't a big garden and there was certainly an interesting assortment of plants. She idly considered expanding it some.

Alex's mood as of late had been bouncing between awful and fucking awful. Today, he was on the latter end of that scale. Not that it was a surprise to him.

After yesterday, he had no clue why he was back on the roof save for the fact that he wanted to smoke and he was trying to be nice to Griff. So, he was very nearly stomping onto the roof, barely glancing at Claire and heading to the edge of the roof before he stopped.

The stomping obviously caught Claire's attention and she glanced up from the plants.

"Afternoon, Sunshine."

Someday she wouldn't be a smartass. Today was not that day.

"Gold star for unoriginality," he said, glancing over at her. "Congratulations, I haven't heard that one before."

"Apparently I lost some braincells yesterday," she quipped.
