Zayne wasn't sure why he ended up on the fourth floor so often. It was probably the will of the Force or something. But he was up here. "What's on the TV?" he asked, somehow managing to ask about what Mirax wasn't focused on at all.

"I haven't the slightest clue," Mirax told him. "You can change it if you want, I just had it on for background niose."

"Oh, no, I'm okay with it being background noise," Zayne said. "I just kind of expect that any time I walk into a room with a TV on, somebody's going to convince me that it's an important piece of Earth culture that I'm missing out on. It's a trend for me."

"I can't do that, so you lucked out," she told him. "Where are you from?"

"The same galaxy as Master Skywalker, if you know him at all," Zayne said. "So there's a little bit of a cultural learning curve, I admit."

"No idea who he is," she admitted. She knew very little about who all was here.

"He's one of the teachers," Zayne said. "Long hair, black robes, probably a good thing he doesn't get to carry his lightsaber to class."

Okay. What. "Lightsaber?"

"It's pretty much a sword with a... beam of light as the blade," Zayne said. He really needed a better way to describe it to people.

"No, I know what it is," Mirax told him. "But no one has those anymore."

"I have one in the weapons locker," Zayne said. And then something occurred to him. "You're from another galaxy, right?"

"Corellia," she answered, figuring he had to know that if he knew about lightsabers.

"Oh, so we are from the same galaxy," Zayne said. "There's a few of us here, but there are timeline issues. Most people are from a few thousand years after my time."

"You're a Jedi," she said, making that logical leap. "From a few thousand years ago?" The time difference was much less weird to her, believe it or not.

"A Padawan, actually," Zayne corrected. "But yeah. It's still strange to me, too."

"This is somehow more bizarre than my friends turning into animals," she decided.
