When you spend several long (but very, very good) days in your (or someone else's) dorm room, you almost got the urge to go outside and make sure the sun was still there. So, that's what Alex was doing. It was warm but not mind numbingly hot and the sun was coming and going between clouds

Helen wandered out to catch a little sun and nodded at Alex.

And Alex nodded back. Not big on talking when he didn't have to. Or he didn't know the other person.

She gestured to a chair near him to see if he'd mind her settling down there.

"It's a free deck," he said, shrugging one shoulder. "Up to you where you sit."

"Only polite to ask," she countered.

See, she could be polite when she chose.

"Helen, by the way."

"Polite, right," he said and nodded. "Alex. Welcome to the deck."

"Nice to meet you, Alex." She shrugged out of her cover up and stretched out, closing her eyes to enjoy the sun more fully. "Oh, it is nice to not have that constant craving."

"What, the sex thing?" he asked, glancing briefly over. "I dunno, I kind of liked it."

Not that it was any different from a normal day. He just had more control now.

She glanced over at him. "I enjoyed the sex part. It had been some time for me. It was the feeling a bit out of control part I disliked."

Helen didn't like feeling out of control in her day to day life. Reminded her too much of Walking the Bounds.

"Ah, yeah, that probably sucked," he offered. He'd keep his own thoughts to himself. Sharing wasn't his thing. "But all over now so you can go back to normal."

"Until the next time," she said drily, but she leaned back again and closed her eyes. "But yes, normal for a time will be nice."

"Shouldn't you be used to this?" Alex asked. "You don't strike me as a new student."

Helen looked over at him again. "I've been here about a year, yes, and I am used to the weirdness that is Fandom, yes. That doesn't mean I appreciate wanting to have sex with everyone I see whether I know them or like them or not."

She shrugged. "I'm not one who needs to be in love or seriously involved to have sex, but some knowledge and liking at least for the person is preferred."

Alex made a face. Emotional connections were not for him. Not usually. "So, you boned someone you didn't know. You got off, he probably did too and now you both can move on. Not that bad."

"I already said I enjoyed the sex part," she reminded him.

"Yeah, I heard you," he said and shook his head. "Congratulations. Weekend would have been a wash if you hadn't, right?"
