4th Floor Common Room, Post Un-zombiefying

Marco was half passed out on a couch in the common room. The problem with being a wolf all day was that he kept having to re-morph and wolves used different muscles then humans. The result was that he felt like he had run about forty miles and was refusing to move.

Jen wasn't going to apologize to anyone if the fifth floor was out of hot water, not right now. Freshly showered and dressed in sweats (black, actually, there's a shocker) and a t-shirt (that was pink, so the world wouldn't end), she stalked down one floor to avoid the wrath of similarly hygiene-needy floormates and flopped onto the couch.

"Being an animal sucks. Being a whole bunch of them is worse."

Marco grunted from his couch. "Tell me about. I think I just got two months of exercise in two days."

"Not the kind of morphing I was thinking about," Jen mumbled. "Were you at least something useful? Because I was a dragonfly for a while there."

"Wolf." Marco answered, still not moving much. "Wait...you morph?"

"At least you had teeth," Jen pointed out, and winced. "Yeah, but it's . . . not what it sounds like."

She didn't really care that much about her identity any more, but Adam and Andros had stricter rules about that sort of thing.

"You turn into animals?" Marco clarified. He would be more involved in this conversation if he didn't feel like he was made of jelly.

"Um, not normally," Jen said, and made a halfhearted grab at the mints. They were too far away. "Did you know cicadas are really loud?"

Marco made a vague motion that was supposed to move them closer but failed. "Uh huh. And dolphins are way too intelligent."

"Not much good for moving on dry land either. Poor Professor Algren was a shark for a little bit there." Jen waved a hand vaguely at the mints again, just so it would look like she wasn't giving up too easily. "Tons of grunt troops attacking in mindless hordes. Just like the good old days, only a lot smellier."

"I was a dolphin in water." Marco pointed out. "Why would you become a shark on land?"

"Not by choice!" Jen objected. "We got hit with some kind of curse. Every time we moved we turned into something new."

[morpherboy]

"OH!" Marco paused. "But you said you could morph!"

[time_flyer_5]

". . . yeah, can we just forget I said that?" Jen mentally facepalmed. A lot. "I think I might be kind of punchy."

[morpherboy]

"I am so confused." Marco said. "You turned into animals but you don't morph?"

[time_flyer_5]

"Curse," Jen said again, in the tone of voice that meant she might start spelling it out in a second.

"Right." Marco was still confused, but he let it drop.
