Ronan was on his way out to rehearsal when he saw... the giant black bird.

"Dai stihó," he ventured, greeting it in the Speech. He'd not yet come across a creature at Fandom that wouldn't speak it, as much as he constantly worried that he would. Sure, everything was supposed to understand it, but that didn't mean that everything from other universes would.

He continued, a long string of words that boiled down (roughly) to, "Be thou friend or foe?"

There were attempts at communication that didn't involve running and hiding, or throwing of rocks. Reno would live with that.

And so he straightened up, looking down at Ronan in bemusement, and then he attempted to answer. Hopefully the guy spoke Chocobo?

"Kweh."

And that? That was a cranky huff as Reno sat his feathered ass down on the grass and nudged at some cereal with his beak.

A freakin' week, man. A freakin' week.

Or, to anyone else listening, "Roo-kii-roo! Roo-kii-roo!"

It was kind of hard for a Chocobo to sound anything other than loud and bubbly, Reno was learning.

"You need booze," Ronan said, most definitively. "That definitely deserves booze. Can chocobos drink alcohol?"

Reno wasn't stupid, after all. And he wasn't ever one to look a gift chocobo in the beak.
