It had taken Jen a really, really, really long time to haul her wagonload of pizzas back to the dorms, and then there was the problem of carrying the pizzas up the stairs 'cause the wagon wouldn't go up the stairs. Well, it would but then the pizzas would fall

She may be only three almost four, but Momoko's fangirl senses were tingling. Or maybe she just smelled pizza?

She peeked into the common room. It wasn't her floor, but it was still full of kids so she skipped up to the fort and ducked her head to look in. "Hi! Why are you inna fort?"

"So nobody tries to steal my TV," Jen said with a firm nod.

"Someones is stealing tvs! That's mean cause then no one can watch it and what if theres superheroes onnit or or or the cartoon with the pretty little ponys! Can I helps protect it, too?"

Jen considered. She even took out her little pink plastic-framed sunglasses (they were her visual scanners) and peered thoughtfully at Momoko for a few seconds.

"As long as you promise not to try and change the channel when Racerranger comes on, uh huh, you can help protect it too."

"Yay! I can helps!" Momoko clapped and plopped herself down, scooting as close as possible. "Oooh! Pink glasses! That's my favritest colour! I met a pink bear today and his name is Mister Bear, just like my Mr Bear, only he's brown not pink. What's Racerranger?"

"You like pink too?" Jen perked up, and bounced a little. "Yay! I love pink. It's my faaaaaaaaaaavorite, and Racerranger's brand new! It's a whole week old and it starts soon, only there isn't a pink one this year," she concluded sadly.

"Pink is the bestest colour ever, right? Right?" Momoko nodded and bounced in place. "A pink racerranger... you mean Racerranger is a new rangers show? Really? Really really really?!" There was massive bouncing now.

"Uh huh, that's what it is! How come nobody knew about this?" Jen asked, aghast. "I knew I should have put up posters or something!"

"Really really? I didn't know afores but I do now! And you gots to tell me alla stuff that happened last time, pleeeeeeeease?" Momoko leaned closer and pleaded. "What colours do they gots now? An' an' an' the mechses!"

"So far they have three," Jen told her in the tone of a five year old who paid far too much attention to details and continuity (which, given her taste in television, was a guarantee of future insanity). "Red, yellow, and blue. But there's gonna be five. You can tell, 'cause there's two more of the sent -- se -- living cars waiting for people to pair up with. There's a green one and a black one!"

She chewed on her knuckle for a moment and added, "And probably more later, too. 'cause there almost always are."

She was talking to an almost-four year old who knew how many that was because it was almost a whole sentei team, bless her geeky enabling parents.

"They gots cars this time? Ah!" Momoko nodded in sudden understanding. "Racerranger! Like racer cars! Red's the leeeader again, right? Ooh. Maybe this is where they gets the green one? Black always takes the longestest."

"Uh huh! Just like that!" Jen said happily. "Of course red's the leader, he almost always is, even though I wish they'd let a girl be red for once. And the cars talk, too!"

"But cars don't talk!" Momoko tilted her head. "Do they? Unless it's peoples onna radio."

"These cars do! 'cause they're not really cars," Jen explained conspiratorially. "I think they're aliens from another world who just look like cars."

Momoko bounced. "Oooh! This is gonna be a good show! I gots to watch it alla time cause it's my new favritest show now even with no pink ranger cause maybe, maybe the pink ranger is gonna have lotsa super powers and save every one from the bad guy in a movie! An' I gotta see that, right?"

The possibility of no pink ranger? Not really sinking in, nope.

"Ooooo," said Jen, who at five years old hadn't quite figured out how to dig for spoilers. "Maybe she will be in the movie! And then I have to get all the toys and everything!"
