It was too cold to do this at the boardwalk again, so Reno and Dōjima had moved the operation into the dorms. They'd taken over the first-floor rec room, since it had the most seating, and they could hopefully grab anyone going to-and-from the building. Reno was having a good day. Any day he could babble endlessly about sex in public was, of course, a good one.

Romeo wandered over, fingering the cards from his bag. "I think my knees would need to bend the wrong way for some of these," he observed. "And good day. That was an excellent session, even if you did make me blush."

Reno was now grinning a little more widely.

"What in the world did we put in there that'd make a guy like you blush, man?"

It was entirely possible that Reno viewed making his audience blush as some kind of personal victory.

"I could use a good laugh," Reno mused, and then shook his head, stuffing his hands in his pockets. "Nah, man, even a guy like me's got some tact now an' then. Shoot."

And now Romeo really did look abashed and embarrassed. "Safewords," he said, almost under his breath. "That part is new to me."

Romeo had odd areas of prudishness at times.

Reno tilted his head. No, he wasn't going to laugh, there. He actually looked a little concerned, for a moment.

"Really? They're a good sorta somethin' to get into the habit of, yo. Even if you are doin' somethin' where no can still mean no, sometimes things like that get all messed up in the thick of it. Nothin' gets the point across like throwin' in somethin' like... I dunno. Platypus? To make your partner stop an' think twice."

That probably wasn't the best example.

"You can keep your concentration if the girl says platypus, though?" Romeo asked skeptically. "I would be completely off lovemaking, we'd have to play chess or something for the rest of the evening."

At that, Reno did have to stifle a bit of a chuckle.

"Platypus would be your red light, I'm thinkin'. For when she means stop and don't go again." It would be very damn effective that way, wouldn't it? "Safewords are somethin' you're probably gonna have to talk to Doji about more'n with me, anyhow. I don't know what the two fo you do behind closed doors, and I probably don't wanna find out either, zoto."

He shrugged his shoulders. "Point of 'em is to find ones that work for both of you, anyhow. If platypus is gonna kill it, don't use platypus."

"So when you're planning this, Yurika doesn't get too personal?"

What? He wasn't jealous. Just ... curious.

Reno gave his head a shake, pulling his hands from his pockets in order to cross his arms over his chest.

"Doji and I got this unspoken kinda agreement. I don't tell her about what Rikku an' me do in bed, and she won't talk about her and you. Neither of us wanna know, man. It'd be like talkin' about sex with your sister."

Well. Reno didn't actually have any siblings. But he was pretty sure that was what it would be like.

Romeo didn't have sisters either, but he had the idea. "And I'd rather chew my own arm off than talk to Rikku about such things, no insult to Rikku," he said. "There are some things it's better we don't share."

"Just like that," Reno agreed with a shrug. "I don't wanna know about you two, you don't wanna know about us two, and what the girls wanna giggle about between themselves while we ain't around is their own business, yoto."

"it's not like they would let us know, anyhow," Romeo pointed out. "I believe that is the idea of girl talk. Though I don't think either of them would share much, would they?"

What Romeo didn't know wouldn't hurt him.

"You don't figure?" Reno raised an eyebrow, and then shook his head, grinning a little. "Man, girls gossip. It's what they do."

For that matter, Reno gossiped. Mostly with Rude, but he did. That's why he'd taken that radio job in the first place, after all.

"If I wasn't worried about hearin' way too much between 'em, I'd probably stick a bug on one of 'em and then scare the balls offa you with the kinda stuff that comes out when girls do that gossipin' thing, yo."

It was amazing the kind of information a covert ops agent could dig up just by listening to that sort of gossip, after all.
