The dorm roof, Sunday sunrise
Karal was still minus his Firecat - Altra was shadowing Lilliman, staying with him at Karal's request - but he still found his way to the roof. He knew the dorms, remembered the path from Evey's room to the roof, but he didn't stray far from the stairs once he reached it.
Just because he was certain he could find his way safely, didn't mean he was foolish enough to go near the edge.
So he stayed back while he said the Dawn Rites, liquid Karsite floating out into the lightening sky.
When the Rites were over, he bowed his head in silent prayer for everyone in Fandom - for their safety, for their sanity, and for their victory.
