Harvey was sitting in front of the TV with a notebook in his lap. He was trying to sketch out some ideas for campaign posters for Student Council. He just needed to think of a catchy slogan and he'd be in business.

He'd be in business a lot faster if he wasn't getting so distracted by the TV. Why was there nothing good on?

Peyton wandered past. She was feeling a little bummed now that she'd turned down Lucas' suggestion to submit her artwork to the gallery and was trying to find something to distract her.

She poked her head in. "Hey."

"Hey," Harvey greeted. He lifted up the remote. "You want to try to find something good?"

Peyton rolled her eyes, but took the remote and a seat. "I'm really bad at this, just so you know."

"Hey, I don't mind. If it's something awful and people complain, the blame won't be on me," he said, smirking.

"Oh nice! So I don't even know you and already you're planning to use me as a scapegoat," she teased.

[yourwhiteknight]

"I'm going into politics, I need to find people to blame for everything," he joked. "It's just what we do."

"Wonderful," she joked back. "Hell, at least if you were going to be a lawyer I'd have a hope of getting some use out of you later, but a politician?"

[yourwhiteknight]

"You're in luck. I want to be a lawyer eventually," he said proudly. "School politics are just a nice cushion for my college application."

"In that case, I'll be sure to keep track of your name and number," Peyton said with a smile. "So if I'm ever arrested again I have someone to call."

"Well, I'm not a lawyer yet but I like to think I can still help a friend in need," he said, smiling. "I'm Harvey."

"Harvey," she said. "Rooming with Brooke Davis, right?"

[yourwhiteknight]

"That's right," he said, nodding. "You know Brooke?"

"She's my best friend," Peyton said with a smile. "Well, sort of. Not exactly my universe's Brooke - and believe me I know how bizarre it is to say that - but we've decided we're close enough to count."

"And I've already been informed you're off limits."

"Off limits, am I?" Harvey said, chuckling. "Has she claimed me for herself already?"

Not that he minded that.

"Maybe?" Peyton said with a grin. "But mostly it was something about sleepovers being way too weird, so I'm not allowed."

[yourwhiteknight]

"Good point," he agreed, nodding. "Although if you were having a sleepover I'd most likely spent the night somewhere else. I don't want to wake up with my toenails painted or anything."
