Andrew almost left when he saw that someone was already in the gym, but he really did need to practice the mok'bara, and it's not like he had the privacy of his own room right now.

He waved sheepishly at Cal and looked around for a good open space.

With how Cal kept his focus on his hard, quick, breathless running on the treadmill, sweat dragging his hair into his eyes, it might have seemed that he either didn't notice Andrew or had simply chosen not to acknowledge him. But then, eventually, he did wave back, or, rather, he lifted a hand, grunted out a breathless "Hey" and kept running, running, footfalls paced with the quickened thumping of his heart and the struggling breaths of his lungs, still bogged down by yesterday's smoke.

Andrew was dealing with demons of his own, though, for once, only in a figurative sense, so he was grateful for the lack of purposeful interaction.

He found a clear spot, took a deep breath, and sank into the smooth motions of the mok'bara, experiencing only mild anxiety at the thought that someone else might see him doing this and think it funny that someone of his stature would be trying it at all.

That suited Cal just fine, really, especially considering how, a moment after his entrance, Cal had basically forgotten entirely about someone else being there, unable to see beyond the line he was pushing himself towards, tunnel vision, kept steady since Andrew was doing his own thing, too.
