[4th Floor Common Room, Saturday Afternoon]

Jul 19, 2008 14:21

Bumblebee had managed sleep, at least, but now was facing low fuel reserves and a distressing feeling of being nearly blind. Following what he discerned to be instincts, he had made his way to the kitchen area of the common room and was looking into cupboards and drawers with a growing sense of urgency ( Read more... )

Hinata!Jack was wandering around, trying to find himself. Or Hinata-in-him. Whatever.

He didn't even know what floor she was on. "Hey," he waved. "You haven't seen a guy that looks like me around here, have you?"

Bumblebee glanced up from the drawer and gave the person before him a curious look, then shook his(/her) head. "I haven't seen a person matching your description," he said. "But I think if one did, they would be female."

"Of course they would be female, it'd--wait. No, it'd look like me. About yay high--" he exaggerated the hight, slightly, as Hinata was not that much shorter, really, "--and blonde?" Hinata mimed the mullet. "And a guy."

"Man, I need a burger or something." It was not a pout. Really.

Frowning was a strange sensation, but it felt appropriate as he tried to puzzle through the conversation so far. "You look like a female human about this tall," he said, holding his hand at Hinata's height. "With dark hair. And I don't have any burgers."

"I know I'm this tall," he said, putting his own--her own--hand at Hinata height. "There's nothing in the fridge? Here, let me make a sandwich or something. You hungry?"

Whatever Hinata's feelings were about the subject, Jack had no problems looting other common rooms for food...or anywhere else for food.

Now thoroughly confused, Bumblebee just nodded. "I haven't checked the fridge. And I think so," he said, slightly distressed. "I've never had to eat for fuel before."

"Never had to--what are you, some sort of space alien? Oh. Wait." Facepalm. "Were you in the swap thing, too? How long is this supposed to last, anyways?"

Jack checked the fridge. "Hope you like ham and salami, because that's what we got. And mayo." Ooh, bread. Plates, even. Jack began to assemble a sandwich...slightly smaller than his normal sandwiches. Hinata's mouth wasn't as big as his own. "Get a sandwich or two in you, and you'll be all right," Jack rattled as he started stacking meat and cheese.

"I am and I was," Bumblebee confirmed, glad that Fandom made points like that a bit more commonplace than not. "I hope not too long, but I don't remember that there was a particular limit, either."

He watched the girl with a growing sense of relief as his(/her) stomach protested the extended fast they'd been enduring. "Thank you for this. I'm usually Bumblebee."

"I'm usually Jack. Good to meet you. We'll have to meet again when we're not whoever we are now and chat. Man, I can't tell you how weird this has been." He presented a plate with a moderately large sandwich to... "...did you say your name was Bumblebee?"

"I'd like that. And yes, Bumblebee," he repeated. "Is your original body male, then?"

He looked at the sandwich hungrily, but didn't yet eat, waiting for Jack so that he could learn by example - no sense in doing something badly or wrong if he could be patient and find out how to, first.

Jack tackled the sandwich in both hands and started eating it over the sink. Those who have seen Jack eat know it's the way you do it. Those who may know Hinata might be a bit aghast that she looks like she's trying to eat the whole thing in three bites.

"Yep, I'm a guy," Jack said after he managed his mouthful of sandwich. "So this whole thing is a switch, you know?" He took another bite. "So who are you when you're not her, Bumblebee?" Chompnomnomhom.

"I'm me. I assume you mean what am I, in which case you'd usually find me by looking for anyone two meters tall and bright yellow," he said, watching Jack for a moment before making an attempt for himself. Pick the sandwich up, hold firmly, jam into your mouth like it might attempt to escape at any moment.

Figuring out how to chew was easier when he tried not to think about it, he realized after a moment, finally chewing a mouthful of sandwich with an almost beatific expression. "Mmmph."

"Two meters? What the hell's a meter?" Jack's...a bit unfamiliar with the metric system. "See? You just listen to ol' Jack Burton. Jack Burton knows how to make a sandwich."

Somehow, his had vanished. He brushed a few errant crumbs off his shirt and tried not to think about how he normally did not get crumbs on his shirt and his mind was not going there except that it did. "Um." Not blushing. "Let me know if you want another."

He chewed thoroughly before swallowing his bite of sandwich. "A meter," he said. "Is approximately three feet long. And thank you, again; this tastes very good."

Jack did the math. "So you're three feet times two tall. That's almost as tall as I am." Taller, actually

"No problem. Any time you need a sandwich, you come find ol' Jack Burton. I may not know how to fix a lot of food, but I can fix the hell out of what I know."

"Closer to seven feet tall," Bumblebee corrected. "If you should need help for any reason, please let me know as well; I'll be happy to assist you."
