Second Floor Common Room - Tuesday Evening

Meg had to admit that she had been a little anti-social since the new kids showed up. She decided to make up for it by baking something. She ended up making three batches of peanut butter brownies, two more than she intended on making. Somehow she always got carried away

Aravis was wandering, somewhat bored without any workshops today. The smell of something chocolate beckoned her when she reached the second floor, and she poked her head into the common room. "Hello?"

"Hi!" Meg turned her around to see who had come in. After baking here for about a year, Meg could recognize the look of a student wanting baked goods from a mile away. "I baked brownies. You can have some if you want."

"Ooh." Aravis paused, thinking of the only other time she'd had brownies. "Just...normal brownies? Without any um, hallucination-inducing substances?"

"...There's peanut butter in them," Meg said. "That's about the only special thing in there."

"Oh, good." Aravis smiled, relieved, crossing over to take a brownie. "My apologies -- my roommate once acquired some brownies that had some bizarre effects upon consumption and as a result, I'm more wary than I should be."

"Oh it's okay. I don't blame you for worrying," she said. "I don't trust foreign brownies either. I always try to make my own when I can."

"I unfortunately have never attempted to make my own, so I have to rely on the culinary skills of others. The far superior culinary skills of others," she amended, with a little nod of respect.

"Thanks. Baking is sort of a hobby of mine," Meg said, blushing slightly at the compliment. "I'm glad you like them. Eat as many as you want. I made way too many, as per usual."

"Are you used to feeding more people?" she wondered.

[goodgirlmeg]

"Since I've been here? Oh yeah. This one time I made pancakes for what had to be at least half of the student body," Meg said. She paused. "I haven't had a pancake since."

"And you enjoy this?" Aravis couldn't imagine such a thing.

[goodgirlmeg]

"Most of the time, yeah," Meg said, nodding. "It makes people happy. Happy people make me happy."

Meg was a strange, strange human being.

"What an odd thing," Aravis said, sort of in awe. "I've never met anyone who actually enjoys cooking."

[goodgirlmeg]

"Well, you have now," she said, smiling. "I'm Meg Manning and I enjoy cooking."

"I'm Aravis, and I almost wish I knew how," she offered. "It's not exactly in my skill set."

[goodgirlmeg]

"It's easy to learn as long as you can follow directions well," Meg said. "It's people who get distracted easily that mess up."
