"Hello!" Katara called with a wave, far too happy to not see Worf at the campfire. "Ooh, are you making s'mores?"

"What's a s'more?" Kaylee asked, eyes widening. "They sound good."

[southernbender]

"It's such a good thing!" Katara said. "You have to toast the marshmallows over the fire, then you make a sandwich with graham crackers and chocolate."

Kaylee stared. "That sounds like the best thing ever. We don't have none of that stuff at home. Well, chocolate, but not so much 'less you're in the core and I'm not...ever. Do we have graham crackers, whatever they are?"

"We didn't have chocolate at home either," Katara empathised. "We have to eat as much as we can while we're here to make up for it!"

She stood up quickly. "Last year they had stuff in the cabin most of the time. Let me check."

Katara hurried into the cabin and emerged triumphant a few minutes later. "Success! S'mores here we come!"

Kaylee grinned, clapping her hands. "You gotta show me how to make 'em right."

"Okay, first thing, we need to roast some marshmallows on sticks," Katara said, reaching for the sticks and smushing some marshmallows onto the pointy ends.

Kaylee followed her lead, poking it onto the end. "But we don't leave 'em in the fire long enough for them to melt or nothin', right?"

"No! We just want the outside to get nice and golden and toasty, that's it," Katara said from her vast knowledge of one summer of marshmallow cooking. "And you don't want to put it right over the flames or it'll burn up."

Kaylee nodded. "We don't got marshmallows at home, but they're one of my new favorite things."

[southernbender]

"They're so yummy!" Katara agreed, checking her marshmallow to make sure it wasn't too brown. "It's like complete sugar and then you add chocolate!"

Worf spotted Katara as he approached the campfire.

And went to the other side of the campfire ring.

Katara glared as she saw him. Too bad he was in her cabin. Something really needed to be done about that."

Worf did not shrink from the glare. In fact he glared back.

And crossed his arms. He'd been told before that he looked intimidating when he did that.

Katara rolled her eyes. "You're not as cool as you think you are," she snapped.

"The temperature is more on the warm side," Worf replied evenly. "Especially near the fire. So I do not feel cool at all."
