Hoshi had pretty much locked herself in her room all week, with the exception of classes, and really needed some fresh air. That's what brought her up to the roof.

She couldn't help noticing the setup that the guys had. "Did you get locked out of your room?" she asked, looking at the sleeping bags.

"Dear Hoshi," Bridge begins. "I've only almost lost my hotel keys *once* since Anders and I arrived in sunny Barbados. I have yet to do something as silly as lock myself out of the room. Wish you were here, Bridge."

Hoshi blinked a few times, wondering if she should have come out of her room just a little bit more often. "Was there a gremlin?" she asked, looking around nervously.

"Dear Hoshi: You know what's awesome about Barbados? Since I'm only writing to you and not actually having a conversation, I can't pause and allow you to answer that question right now, so I'll just tell you: no gremlins. Complete lack of the little guys. I'd say I miss 'em, but that'd be a lie. See you soon! Bridge."

Well, he wasn't doing anything outrageous and he seemed to know who he was, so Hoshi relaxed. She figured that she could have some fun with this.

"Dear Bridge, Make sure you watch out for the jellyfish! They can totally ruin your vacation. Have fun! Hoshi."

"Dear Hoshi," Bridge says, clearly pleased that someone actually wrote back. "It's so good to hear from you! Thanks for the warning about the jellyfish, I'll make sure to keep an eye out. From, Bridge."

"Dear Bridge," said Hoshi, trying to hold back a giggle, "Remember to use something rated SPF 15 or higher. They haven't fixed the hole in the ozone layer yet. Don't get burned! Hoshi."

"Dear Hoshi," Bridge replies. "Anders tells me the sunscreen is SPF 75, so I think I'll be okay. It really is too bad that that ozone hole isn't due to be fixed for a few more years yet, though. Wish you were here, Bridge."

"Dear Bridge," said Hoshi, snickering, "What kind of tropical drinks are they serving over there? Have one for me! Hoshi."

"Dear Hoshi. As I write you, I'm currently sipping away at something called a 'Beachcomber'. It's quite good. I wonder if they serve them at Caritas? From, Bridge."

The drink in question? Yeah, still a Coke.

"Dear Hoshi," Anders said, taking a sip from his can of Coke, "we do have a pretty swank hotel room here, but why be inside when we can be catching rays out here on the beach? The weather's great. Wish you were here! From, Anders."

"I'm sure sunburn won't be a problem," said Hoshi sarcastically.

"Dear Hoshi," Anders replied, seemingly oblivious to her sarcasm, "Don't worry! We have plenty of sunscreen. We'll bring you back plenty of pictures and maybe some sand dollars too. From, Anders."

Hoshi tilted her head to one side as she pondered her response. "Are you guys flying back or taking a boat?" she asked.

"Dear Hoshi," Anders said blithely, "we got a fantastic deal on portal bookings for this trip and we'll be swinging by Mars for a couple of days on the way back. You should check out the Portalocity website more often. The last minute deals are sweet. Maybe next time you can come with us! From, Anders."

"Mars isn't capable of sustaining human life, not even in my time. You'll need a spacesuit, and getting into one of those things doesn't sound like a vacation to me," Hoshi pointed out.
