Fourth Floor Hallway - Friday Night

Oct 12, 2007 21:16

Jim and John were having a man-date. No need to provide details as to what that consisted of. Needless to say it was manly and full of UST. They found themselves walking the fourth floor hallway, near 413, surprisingly. Neither boy was aware of the dangers that lurked in the dorms at night.

Jim - unaware of the dangers that lurked in the dorms at night as mentioned - wasn't watching where he was going as he argued about, what else, football. "I don't care if your team's sponsored by royalty, my team has royalty playing. That makes us better by default. Also, I outrank Turtle."

"We've got the Queen and the Duchess," John argued. "Females always trump males when crowns are involved. Besides, Turtle is way scarier than anyone on your team."

Given that they just happened to be near his room, Karal could hear them, and his attention was rather caught by both the sounds of arguing and the mention of royalty. "Should you really be arguing about royalty?" he asked as he came into the hallway. "They still have lèse majesy in some kingdoms."

Turns out he, too, was unaware of the dangers that lurked in the dorms at night.

Gavin, who happened to be on his way down to see how Karal was, came upon the scene and made a face.

"Did John just admit to being scared of a girl?"

"He did," Jim said. He turned back to John. "I'm going to send Turtle an e-mail about how scared of her you are. Then she'll know that you're easy pickings."

John rolled his eyes, "Right, and I'll email Willow to tell her the good news about you agreeing not to wear pants to any games this year."

That was about when a rumbling in the ceiling started. Something was in the ducts and it sounded like it was fighting with something else. It must have been the aforementioned dangers that lurked in the dorms at night.

Small growls and squeaks could be heard as the fighting approached a vent and, when it reached the vent, the cover popped off and four gremlins tumbled out to rain down on the boys chatting in the hallway.

Getting hit by falling creatures tends to grab your attention, and Karal skittered backwards a few steps, eyes wide as he stared at them. "Glory!"

"They don't bite royalty, do they?" Jim asked, preparing himself for the inevitable.

"Oh no," Gavin said, backing away and looking for a place to run or even a window to jump out of. "Not again! Not again not again not again!"

John looked from the monsters to Gavin, "I take it they're friends of yours?"

The four gremlins were confused and scared to suddenly find themselves surrounded by humans. Unable to get back to the vent they'd come through, the gremlins went with their next option: biting.

As if on cue, each gremlin jumped at a different boy and tried to bite and run.

Not having expected a gremlin and not really having any place to run, it was easy for the gremlin to take a chunk out of his leg and, once again, Gavin would find himself hating everything.

"Ow!" He kicked at the gremlin albeit too late and tried to skitter away.

Taken off guard by the sudden attack, John was surprised when he felt a gremlin sink its teeth into his leg. "GAH!" he cried out, tearing himself out of range. This wasn't going to end well.

It was with a sense of the inevitable that Karal tried to jerk out of the way, failed, and flinched back as a gremlin latched onto his ankle, teeth digging in deep. "Sunlord!"

There was never a Firecat around when you needed him.

Jim didn't realize the little jerks were such good jumpers. That's why he ended up with a gremlin bite on his arm before he managed to pull the gremlin off. "Yikes," he said, staring at the marks.

Shortly afterwards, though, Jim walked down the hall to a janitor's closet and opened it up. Inside were, for some inexplicable reason, four red and white striped suits.

It was showtime.
