Second Floor Common Room - Tuesday Morning

Sep 04, 2007 10:02

Meg didn't have class until Wednesday but she didn't want to get in the habit of sleeping in all day so when she woke up she got dressed and decided to check out the common room. It wasn't long before she was digging around in the kitchen and soon after she had eggs, bacon and pancakes cooking on the stove ( Read more... )

It was warm out on the roof last night, a bit uncomfortably warm, really. Still, Cassandra had managed to get nearly five hours of sleep, which was more than she usually got, so when she finally makes her way down to the second floor she's smiling sleepily.

Then she smelled the food and moved instinctually toward it. She poked her head around a corner curiously, covering a yawn with her hand, "Hello?"

"Hi!" Meg said cheerfully. "Come in, eat, be merry."

"Are you sure?" Cassandra sounded a bit doubtful. She wasn't precisely used to being offered free food. But then her stomach rumbled loudly, since the only thing she'd had to eat yesterday was a muffin, and she shrugged and walked over with a grin.

"Anything I can do to help?"

"I'm totally sure. I've made a ton as it is." Meg said, pointing to a large stack of pancakes. "I love to cook."

"Actually, could you grab some juice or something out of the fridge?" Meg asked, pointing the spatula she was holding at the fridge. "I kinda forgot to break out the beverages."

Cassandra nodded and walked over to the fridge to open it. There were a lot of things in there, and she couldn't read the labels. "Um... do you have a preference?" she asked, not even sure that there was more than one kind of juice in there.

"Hmm...orange juice will do." Meg said. "If anyone else wants something different then they can get it."

With pursed lips Cassandra looked over the options again, then she decided that there was a pretty good chance that orange juice was probably the one in the orange container, so she grabbed that. As she walked back toward Meg, she offered a slight smile, "I'm Cassandra."

"I'm Meg." she said, smiling back. "Are you new here too?"

"Yeah," Cassandra nodded, "I sort of... wandered in yesterday." She shrugged sort of helplessly, "Now I'm signed up for classes."

"I'm always glad to meet some more new kids." Meg said. "Most everyone else I've met have been seasoned veterans of Fandom."

Cassandra shook her head and snorted in amusement, "I haven't even found my room yet, so I think you could say I'm pretty new."

"What room number are you?" Meg asked. Not that her knowledge of the school was great but she knew enough to get around the dorms at least.

"Um..." Cassandra thought for a moment, "212, I think?" She pulled out a piece of paper from her backpack and held it out for inspection, "Whichever number this one is," hse pointed to the number in question which was, in fact, 212.

Meg might have bounced a little at that. "Hey! That's my room! You must be my roommate."

A sort of shy smile slipped across Cassandra's face and she waved a bit, "Oh... hi then."

Meg managed to lessen the bounce a little. "Sorry about the excitement. I just never had a roommate before and I've always wanted one."

Meg was weird sometimes.
