"You can cook too?" Gavin asked, appearing at the door to the common room. "Man of many talents."

Altra looked straight at Gavin and shook his head. :Not even a little bit.:

"Altra, that's not fair! I have never tried." Karal looked up from the onion he was attempting to cut. "Good morning, Gavin. Ignore Altra. He thinks this is going to end badly. But it cannot be that difficult. Can it?"

"I've never cooked before," Gavin admitted, coming inside and taking a seat. He smiled at Altra a little knowingly. "But, sure! It can't be that hard. Just follow the instructions, right?"

Altra snickered and me Gavin's eyes. :Oh, I like him. I really do.:

"Well," he looked distinctly sheepish, "I do not actually have any instructions. But I think it is simply make everything small," he poked the chunks of mushroom hesitantly, "then mix it with eggs and milk, put it in the pan and you get omelette."

Isabel had had a restless night. Eventually she gave up trying to get back to sleep and wandered out to the common room in search of coffee.

"Morning," she yawned.

"Good morning, Isabel!" Karal looked over from where he was attempting to cook. "Would you care for some coffee?"

"You've made some?" she asked, sniffing the air. "Oh thank god."

"I did." Karal waved a spoon at the pot. The spoon with the egg on it. Now the coffee pot had egg on it. Altra made a noise remarkably like a groan. "Oh dear."

Jaina had a little bit of time to kill this morning, so she made her way upstairs to see if anything interesting was going on. "Oh, look, people."

"And amazingly, I'm awake in both the literal and figurative senses," she said. "How are you?"

"Awake," he said, smiling. "For the most part. How is everything? Workshops going okay?"

Luke wandered into the common room, yawning. "Hot chocolate?" he begged blearily.

"That would make the chocolate melt," Gavin pointed out.

"...you haven't had hot chocolate yet?" Luke grinned. "It's a drink. And so, so good. Just, um, don't put ice cream in it. It gets kind of gloppy."

Setsuna was on her way back from her morning training (shhh, don't tell; and it was light stuff, she promised, that didn't use her wounded arm at all!), when she passed the common room, stopped, and walked back.

"There are actually other people up this early?" Clearly, she was pleasantly surprised. And had details for the next time someone made fun of her about it.

"Karal's cooking," Isabel explained. Her grin should make it pretty clear what she thought of that. "But there's coffee."

Setsuna let out a small laugh. "So it's a polemic?" she guessed. "Uncertain about the attempts to cook, and yet drawn undeniably by the coffee?"

She certainly hoped no one would mind or take insult to her going to the cupboard for a more proper beverage of tea.

"Pretty much. Somehow I have a feeling a trip to J,GoB is in my future," she laughed.
