Karal curled up a little more, arms wrapped around his legs, and pressed his forehead against his knees. "Will glitter make me feel better?" he asked miserably.
"It might." She pulled the glitter she'd gotten from Rory a week ago, and blew some in his direction before sitting down. "So I hear there were some really good movies at the festival yesterday..."
He looked up hopefully, wincing as the movement made his head pound more, as the glitter settled over him, then slumped when it made no difference. "Yes, they were interesting." It was the best he could manage.
"Awww," Buffy said comfortingly since Karal managed to seem miserable even while glittery. She was secretly a bit impressed. "It can't have been that bad. ...Can it?"
"Gavin and I went to the tavern." He lifted his head and tried to smile at her. She was being so nice, he had to try. "There were many coloured drinks."
"I have not, but I will. Thank you," he said gratefully. "I, if I were home I'd have willowbark tea, for the pain in my head, but I didn't bring any with me."
"Someone'll probably have pain killers if you ask around," Buffy said. "The Magic Box might have willowbark tea, I'm not sure." She frowned. "I'm not sure if it's open today though."
