[Chupacabra campfire, Thursday Evening]

Donatello had a pencil, a notebook he usually reserved for sketching diagrams or writing down new project proposals, and enough boredom to be coming up with glitter-throwing test ideas. Not that he expected to use them himself (whether or not it worked on turtles as well as humans), but it was something to do while he didn't have a computer.

Z bounced up to Chupacabra's campfire carrying a plate of artfully arranged Chips Ahoy! cookies and plunked herself down like she belonged there. "Greetings, noble goatsuckers!" she said cheerily. "I come to you with a petition. And also I brought cookies." Note that she did not say she made the cookies, for that would be an egregious lie.

"Ooo, cookies." Charlie looked hopefully at the girl risking her life so casually. "I'm not a goatsucker. Can I still have one?"

Z was feeling very brave. Or very foolish. One or the other. "No! These cookies are only for the noble goatsuck--yeah, okay." Z held the plate out to her. "I'm Z."

"Charlie. Hi!" She snickered and took a Chips Ahoy!, careful to leave some for the noble suckers of goats. "Have you actually seen one around here? Are they real?"

"They're all around us, Charlie," Z said soberly, assuming some of the people sitting at the campfire actually lived in this cabin.

Charlie nearly spit out cookie crumbs, then managed to not choke. "I was talking about the four-legged kind. At least, I think they have four legs. That's what Weekly World News says. But," she surveyed their fellow campers. "No, I don't have the nerve to ask them."

"Oh, no, as far as I know, the other kind aren't real. They could be, though, that would be cool."

[girlzippo]

"Wouldn't it? Heh." Charlie smiled again, thinking about it. "Are any of the other cabin mascots real? I've been worried about the minotaur ever since I got assigned to it."

"I don't know," Z admitted with a shrug. "It would be cool, though, wouldn't it?"

"Maybe. As long as we didn't have to pay a toll to get into our cabin, or something," Charlie said cautiously. "So how long have you been in Fandom?"

"A little over a year, now. You get used to it," Z assured her. "Has your big sibling given you the 'no, really, it's all real' speech yet?"

[girlzippo]

Charlie nodded and rolled her eyes at herself, only a week ago. "Ohhhhh yeah. Dean even too me to a haunted house. With a dead serial-killer. After that, I've just been nodding a lot when people tell me things. This place is wild."

Z nodded. "Dean's cool. So when I say I'm a mutant from the future...?"

[girlzippo]

"I'll say, 'wow, what's it like traveling through time?'" Charlie grinned. "I ask a lot of questions. It's totally cool not to answer them."

"There's a glowy portal thing and you're through it and you're there," Z said. "Sometimes there's turbulence."

Charlie started laughing. "Turbulence? Really? Like, fasten your seatbelts, it's 1898?"
