Donatello had a pencil, a notebook he usually reserved for sketching diagrams or writing down new project proposals, and enough boredom to be coming up with glitter-throwing test ideas. Not that he expected to use them himself (whether or not it worked on turtles as well as humans), but it was something to do while he didn't have a computer.

"Hey, man," Gavin said, taking an empty seat. "Keeping a journal?"

"Not so much a journal as just somewhere to keep all the randomthings I'm not sure I'll remember," Donnie said distractedly before taking a moment to think over what he'd said. "...Which does sound like a journal, doesn't it?"

He laughed and said, "It does. Does it help you to remember things?"

"I keep it mostly for ideas and plans, and write them out in enough detail that if I do forget, I won't come back to them later and wonder if I was insane at the time," he explained, grinning. "So, yeah, it definitely helps."

"Just don't lose the thing, right?" Gavin asked.

[turtle_techie]

Donnie made an exaggerated expression of horror and clutched at his chest over his heart. "Man, don't even say that! All the measurements, the notations!"

Gavin laughed, leaning back to look up towards the sky. "You write about anything specific or just everything?"

[turtle_techie]

"Mostly my projects - usually things that have to be fixed or tuned up - and ideas for things I want to do in the future," he said. "Right now I just really miss my computers."

"You're a mechanic," Gavin guessed. "Or...technician?"

[turtle_techie]

"Kind of both? I really like engineering too," Donnie said, warming up to his subject. "Whatever needs fixing or modifying, I'm your turtle for the job!"

"Ever fixed a fighter? A ship, I mean."

[turtle_techie]

"Unfortunately, no," Donnie said regretfully. "I've never had the opportunity to get anywhere near a space ship, much less fix one."

"Got a favorite thing to work on?" Gavin asked.

[turtle_techie]

"Computers, mostly, but I really like getting to mess with things I've never had the chance to before," he said, smiling.

[sixstandingby]

"If I somehow get my ship here, you could look at it, if you want," Gavin offered. "I'm not much of a mechanic."

[turtle_techie]

"Really?" Donnie brightened noticeably, staring at Gavin. "Are you sure? I mean, I'd love to! If you do get it here, I mean."
