First Floor Lobby: Sunday afternoon

Apr 23, 2007 06:10

Finals started tomorrow, so Jack was - surprisingly enough - studying.

He was doing it in a very Jack way, though. He'd claimed the biggest couch in the first floor lobby as his own and was currently sprawled across it, shirtless, sucking on a lollipop while he flipped through a textbook.

Propped up at each end of the couch was ( a sign which read-- )

seely booth, isabel evans, sam carter, cedric diggory, cindy mackenzie, jaye tyler, lana lang, billy, dean winchester, 1st floor lobby, jack harkness

Jaye had been coming back from a couple errands, but she's got to stop at the table. "Seriously?" she grins.

"Seriously." Jack grinned as he looked up from his book. "How could licking a Seahorse not be lucky?"

"You have a point," she says, considering this. "Does this mean I'm naturally going to pass all my finals?"

Jack made a show of giving it some thought. "Welll, nothing's ever one hundred percent certain," he said slowly. "Maybe you want to get in some last minute licking for luck? Just to be on the safe side?"

"Hm. I did already get accepted into schools so I doubt a test or two is going to make a big difference..."

Jack sat up and pulled a very sad face. "You don't want to lick a seahorse for luck? It'll be fun, I promise."

"Well, I suppose I can," she says. "If it's for luck."

Jack muffled a snicker. "Have you got a flavour preference? Seahorses come in many, many different varieties."

"I'm so afraid to ask what the flavors are..."

He gave up and just started laughing. "Almost anything you want them to be. Seahorses are nothing if not adaptable." He randomly pulled a lollipop out of the box and waved it in the air. "Here, one Seahorse, for licking and luck."

She laughs when she sees that, tapping its little candy head with her finger. "Okay, that? Is the best thing ever?"

"Isn't it? And they come in about a million flavours, even chilli - though I'm pretty much saving those for Isabel." Jack grinned and grabbed one for himself, pulling off the wrapper and taking a long, slow lick. "They're candy Seahorses. There's just no bad here."

Jaye's still admiring hers in the package. "When we have our town? People have to have one of these. Every day."

"We're not subsiding dental care," he added quickly. "But yeah, that's a great idea. It could be the town motto: Lick a Seahorse, every day."

"Ooh! Maybe market some like, seahorse-shaped breath mints, or something," she says. "Okay, those don't clean the teeth, but still!"

"Considering the favourite pastime of most Seahorses?" Jack licked he lollipop again, grinning widely. "Breath mints aren't a bad idea."
