Lobby: Thursday, All Day (Except Fifth Period): Cookie Table

Apr 19, 2007 09:28

Okay, so: she'd made several dozen cookies last night, and she had actually followed the recipes for once instead of just making things up as she went along. So they weren't, say, Surprise Cookies, but they should be edible, which ... surprise cookies sometimes weren't ( Read more... )

Peter noticed the cookies and the note. He took his time reading it, then asked, "New form of therapy?"

"Hi!" Rikku waved. "Nah, just ... guilt? And missing the kids. And, uh, the rest of it." She gestured vaguely to the sign. "Man, that'd be a fun kind of therapy, though. You'd have cookies all the time."

"Might not work if you were diabetic," Peter pointed out. He grinned. "Lucky for me I'm not. Can I take one even if I didn't have a kid this weekend?"

"Oooh, I didn't think about that. Diabetics. I guess they'll have to yell at me for skipping them?" Rikku considered. "Oh! And the cookies are for anyone, whether you had a kid or not or whether you're ticked about the reality thing or ... really. Have some cookies. I didn't add any weird ingredients this time, so they should be okay."

Annette took a cookie, an oatmeal raisin cause she was thinking healthy today. Yeah.

"So, that's a big long sign." She said to Rikku - the whole ripped a hole in reality was really lost on her.

She tentatively took a bite and figured it was pretty good. She took a bigger bite and nodded.

"Hi, Annette!" Rikku nodded. "That's why I wanted to put the thing in the paper? If you saw it? 'Cause otherwise this would be even longer. And putting up a lot of these signs would have been a total pain."

She looked back at it again. "I think I'm not very good at signs."

She shook her head, "I didn't see the paper yesterday. I'll find a copy somewhere. I don't know anyone could bend reality." Of course, she didn't know she could become a track star in the space of an hour either. Bad that. Dick called her a crazy jackass. Hmmph.

Her cookie was now half gone. "I think it's a pretty good sign Rikku, I mean, you want people to see it, right? It's a real...people stopper." She nods, cause it got her attention for sure. But then so did the cookies.

"Oh! I can just explain instead." Rikku shrugged. "I didn't bend it, I broke a ... dimensional barrier wall-thing, I think. And that made other things bend. Like, the structural integrity of ... I'm not good with this. But that's why, like, the common room didn't have gravity for an hour or two. And it's fixed now and I'm sorry."

She smiled. "Thanks! I, uh. Wanted people to see it. And have some cookies."

Cassie headtilted at the really long sign. "Hole in reality? Really?"

"Yeah," Rikku blushed. "Stuck a pillow over it so my roommate's cat wouldn't fall in. Not a good thing. Cookie?"

"Sam Carter didn't bake these, right?"

She'd been trained well.

"Nope, I did! And I followed the recipe instead of just making stuff up, 'cause that can have some pretty weird results. And I like the weird results, but these were for other people, so, you know."

Sokka took some cookies!

And then read the sign.

"So... wait. YOU'RE the reason I got stuck in the stairs???!?!?!"

"You were stuck in the stairs?" Rikku looked down. "I didn't know, I'm sorry. Uh, cookies?"

"The door disappeared and the stairs went on for, like, EVER. I could see the back of my HEAD!"

Exasperated though he may be, that didn't stop Sokka from shoving a few cookies in his mouth.

"Whoa. That sounds trippy. We got to swim in the common room. That was a lot more fun." She shook her head. "I didn't know the hole was causing the weird stuff at first. And hey, that's not very ... no, wait, I totally said you could yell at me. Okay, go ahead. More cookies?"

"Oh! Hi, Tori! I, uh," she flailed vaguely in the direction of the sign, "screwed up and I'm sorry and, uh, cookies?"

Rikku blushed. "Oh! Uh, thanks, I just, you know. It was kinda bad and it could have been worse and I was being stupid and reckless and ... I knew better." She shook her head. "And I feel all down about Bayla leaving and I was just like, okay, cookies."
