Angelus walked in looking broody, and stoic. But that might have also been concern.

"Everybody okay?"

*Looks Angelus over carefully*

"Angel?"

"Anya," Angelus said, looking relieved to spot her. "Are you okay, where's - "

He stopped when he saw Faith come up to him.

*Confused, Anya looks from Angelus to Faith, and Faith to Angelus*

"Buffy?" she questions outloud, mostly to herself.

"What is going on around here?!"

"Well," Angelus said, not unreasonably, "there were zombies."

*Realizing both Faith and Angelus must have eaten zombie stew earlier today, Anya gives up. But not without recognizing how much she misses the safe side of Angelus*

*Walks up to him and hugs him tight, causing an awkward moment- for both of them*

Angelus patted her on the back, the gesture almost robotic in its awkwardness. "Uh... thanks, Ayn. Glad you're okay too."

*Breaks embrace feeling embarassed, those damn human emotions are so hard to understand*

"Yes, you too," She says back to her blunt, graceless self.
"I just missed you and am glad you are safe."

*Although she knows he will only be around for 24 hours, Anya says goodbye and goes to find alcohol*

"Just doing my job," Angelus said. He shuffled his feet uneasily, clearly not comfortable talking to people. "Uh... great job too, with the zombie-fighting. Thanks."

"Actually it's - uh - Angel," Angelus said, but he didn't raise his voice much and actually looked happier not to have to make small talk anymore.

There was a painfully long pause as it looked as though either he couldn't find the words, wanted the world to swallow him whole so he wouldn't have to do public speaking, or possibly both. Ultimately he ended up saying, lamely, "Thanks?"
