4th floor common room: Sunday Morning

Blair had gone to eat a sandwich from the fridge and almost bit into mold. So he decided that it was time for the fridge to be cleaned out and the food tested for edibility. Jude is very good with kids. However, Jude is not exactly the sharpest bulb in the box. Because yelling out "WAFFLES!" to a room full of children? Probably not the wisest course of action in the history of ever.

Bayla ollied her way over, tackled her Jude-dad, and began grabbing waffles like they were going out of style.

Waffles! She was hungry. Probably because this weekend was insane.

Rikku walked up and slipped an arm around Jude. Which was kinda weird because holy crap kid right over there, like, our kid!?? but nice anyway.

"Hi," she said. "Changed. Back. How are you?"

"Hi," Jude said, sounding relieved. He leaned against her, dropping a kiss to the top of her head. "I am making waffles."

"Whoa, you okay?" Rikku shook her head. "I feel like mailing my dad candy or something."

"Yeah, I'm fine." He chuckled. "She totally gets her energy from you."

Rikku giggled. "She's still little, so some of that's just ... you know. Kid hyper."

And then watched Bayla ollie around the room. "... Okay, yeah, you're right. Sorry about that."

"Looks like you've taught her the ways of the board." She grinned.

"Yeah . . . or I'm going to teach her." Jude chuckled softly, squeezing her. "This is really like beyond weird by now."

Rikku squeezed back. "Yeah. This is ... I mean. Does that mean ..."

She shook her head. "This makes my head hurt." And the rest of her panic, but that sounded mean, because she kinda liked it, too, and that sounded scary, so maybe she'd just leave it at making her head hurt and not freak him out either way.

"Yeah . . . but, I dunno, kinda nice to think that, like, we might . . . go somewhere?" Jude offered, nervous that she might not feel the same way and the idea of ending up married to him was what was giving her the headache.

Rikku pressed her face into his side, grinning. "'Might'? I mean, she's right over there."

She laughed. "Is this, like. Definite? 'Cause that's a bit ... unnerving, but ... kinda ... neat. I mean. Whoa, that sounds clingy and you're totally gonna freak on me. Except if you did, and like we had a huge fight or something, would she, like, vanish?"

She stood still for a moment, and then added, softly, "'Bayla' is an Al Bhed word. That's how I guessed."

"Totally not clingy and I was thinkin' the same thing," Jude smiled down at her. "It's a pretty name. What's it mean?"

"Yeah?" she said, softly, and smiled back. "Whoa. Okay. Kinda freaking out a little. Not, I mean, not cause of you! Just ... wow. You know!?"

She shivered a bit but snuggled in closer. "It's not really a name in Al Bhed. It's our word for 'peace.'"

"I know," Jude assured her. The translator was not broken today. "Peace. I like that."

He laid his cheek against her head. "I wonder what our life is like . . . I kinda want to ask her, but then again I kinda want to find out on my own, y' know?"

Rikku shook her head. "It's kinda neat, really, 'cause ... I mean, you've got the whole hippie-peace-thing going, but ... I don't know. I mean, I've been through a war. All of the Al Bhed did, and it's over now. So ... it's the same but different. I don't know." She shrugged.

"I want ... there are a couple things I want to ask her but I'm kinda scared to find out. Like, did Sin really stay away for good, are my friends okay, is Spira different ... if she's even been to Spira." She looked up at Jude curiously. "I wonder where we are."

"Somewhere with skateboards and malls," Jude pointed out, having heard her claims.
