Finishing dinner preparations had allowed Isabel a little time to process everything she'd learned during the day. Hopefully with the information she and Parker had given Professor Phale to be played out in a bit, he'd be able to stop Lana, Phoebe and Marie before they messed with anyone else's head

Sam entered the common room a little hesitantly, not sure how to handle Jack and Cedric if they were both so fragile. "Smells good," she said, leaning on the counter.

"Thanks," Isabel smiled. "Cooking relaxes me."

"See, now I just want to propose to you," Sam said, peeking into the pot, "What is it?"

"I think Virginia has a law against that," Isabel chuckled. "It's chili. And I've got bread for bread bowls, rice and all kinds of toppings. So hopefully you'll like it."

"I didn't have to make it or scrounge for it, so I adore it already," Sam told her. "Thanks for letting me crash."

"Please, there's more then enough, and I think we all deserve a night of relaxation," she said, stirring the chili with a little more force then necessary. "Especially after this week."

"Tell me about it. This week has not been the best."

[izzyalienqueen]

"Yeah, I know," Isabel grumbled. "I also know why."

"What? There's a why to this? What happened?"

[izzyalienqueen]

"Lana, Phoebe and Marie are possessed by the spirits of three witches," she explained. "Probably because Lana took a book from Special Collections. That's never good. But Parker and I made a list of the wackiness that's been going on this week? And every single person has had dealings with one of the three."

"For taking a book?" Sam asked incredulously, "And this is more than just wackiness, Isabel," she said, glancing from Jack to Cedric. "This is a hostile act."

"You're right," she nodded, following Sam's gaze. "Some of it is pretty damn serious. But there's enough silly stuff mixed in, Sokka thinking he's a chicken, Jamie turned into a chiahuahua, that nobody realized anything unusual was going on. And you have to understand the books that are in Special Collections. They're mystical, some of them are cursed. We're pretty sure she's possessed."

"Holy hannah, I miss when life was simple and all I had to worry about were aliens coming to destroy the Earth and everyone I loved," Sam sighed. "Er, no offense."

"None taken, the little green relatives are annoying," Isabel said with a half smile. "But we talked to Mr. Phale so hopefully he'll be able to fix things. But in the mean time if you see any of them? Run like hell."

"I can't shoot them if they're possessed, can I?" Sam pouted. "Stupid mystical crap."

Isabel gave Sam a pout of her own. "No. Although I will give her hell for taking the book from Special Collections. That's what started all this."
