Parker was talking as she entered the common room. "And this is the Second Floor Common Room, which is the best, of course. Anyone will tell you that. It got blown up once, but then it was fixed."

She flipped on the TV set and started looking for Smile Time or a monster movie.

And possibly other students to inflict wee tiny grown ups on.

Emma had walked around town for a while, but that had been boring and so she'd come up to the school where there were people, and then she'd just followed the sounds and thoughts of manymany peoples, yay! Maybe they would want to play?

"Hi!"

"Hi." Parker felt like whimpering. They were multiplying. Before her eyes. "And who would you be? If you were tall?"

"Emma Grayshe Frost!" Emma said triumphantly. "And you's Mish Parkej!"

Parker blinked, wondering if they had a mini-telepath on their hands, then rubbed her eyes. "Yeah, you got it in one, Emma. You're very smart."

"I knows," Emma agreed placidly. "Are you being thinky, like you said? You're being quiet thinky, not loud thinky."

Deciphering this from kidspeak, Parker decided that Emma couldn't hear everything, but maybe some things. "Yes, I'm being quiet thinky. That's the way I am. Force of habit." She stared back at Emma, and wondered if it was *every* adult in town. "Hmm. Emma? Did you walk here?"

"U-huh. Was looooong way. I saw birdses anna box an lots of tree an squirrelseses," Emma informed Parker. "An' peoples, but they weren't any fun."

"No? Why not?" Parker asked, curious. "And how did you know to come here? Did you just remember this was where the big kids were?"

Emma nodded. "Ya-huh. This is were ev'ryone plays! The peoples I saw were littles. Much littler than I," insisted the four year old. "I'm almost as big as you is!"

"Well, you have a couple more years," Parker said, but not about to mock. "But yeah. You're a lot older than some kids." She frowned a little. "Did you get lunch?"

"I hadda sammich anna milkshak' an' Rose Tyler is my best friend ever!" Emma said happily. "You was there too, but talkin' to stupid boy."

"Ohhhh. Sorry I didn't see you." Parker blinked. "And Jarod isn't stupid. Even though boys drool."

"All boys are stupid," Emma said. She paused. "I forgives you! 'Cause the bra man gave me sammich."

"Bra man?" Parker blinked. "Um. Was he wearing one? And thanks."

"And choclit milkshak'. When I'm big I'mma have choclit alla time!" Emma bounced at the thought. "No, he wasn't wearing one, silly. He called me 'little bra' but I'm not a bra and he was being silly."

"Yay chocolate," Parker said, nodding. "Ohhh, Jude. Gotcha. And yes, he's like that a lot." She grinned. This kid wasn't so bad. Why couldn't they all make sense?
