Lucas had a giant bowl of popcorn and was sitting in front of the TV. There was a documentary on, but the remote control was out of reach, so if anyone grabbed it they could probably flick over to something else.

Pam was bored and restless, so she wandered until she found a common room with people in it. "Hey!"

Oh thank god, a sort of familiar face. "Hey," Lucas said, now feeling a little out of place surrounded by girls. His ego wasn't minding it at all. "Come and have some popcorn?"

Lucas shrugged. "I spent the day in class or in my room. Not really a big fan of Valentine's Day when there's no one to share it with."

"Little bit of both," Pam said. "I'm surprising my boyfriend."

She paused, thoughtfully. "I wonder if penguins think of that day when they all pair up to mate as their kind of Valentine's Day."

"That makes sense. There's no reason why penguins would stick to our holidays. When they pair up to mate, there are gifts and...well, lots of sex. Sounds like Valentine's Day to me."
