Greeting and salutations!
So, the island's merry travels are coming to an end this Sunday night, but it won't be returning to quite where it left.
The space it occupied in the river near Alexandria was fairly small, and there wasn't any room for the island to expand. Well, that won't be a problem anymore!
The island, having gotten used to the company of other islands, is going to snuggle in close to an island fragment off the coast off
Lexington Park, Maryland (just in the curve of the coastline). The island fragment fits so closely against Fandom that an observant person would have to wonder if maybe it hadn't been there before... *insert spooky music*
So what does this mean?
For one, the island is about to get a lot bigger. We'll be posting a new map, with the new space on it, shortly and, while some of the new facilities will be laid out, there's also going to be a lot of room for new NPC and PC businesses. Head on over to
this post and let us know what else you'd like to see in the new space. Brand new NPC businesses will slowly arrive over the coming weeks.
For another, the Causeway now leads to two places in this world.
The carpark in Alexandria is still part of the island, it's owned by the town, after all, and as such, the Causeway will lead to both it and to Lexington Park. You just need to think clearly about where you want to go before you step off. (Don't worry, there'll be a sign.)
In case you're wondering why we've set it up this way, part of it is because Alexandria is a huge part of Fandom's history, and severing the connection just seems wrong. Part of it is because some players have set their characters up to be close to Alexandria, and we don't want to interfere with that. Part of it's because we're scared Dean will come after us if he can't get to his Impala on a regular basis.
We'll be adjusting the website and communities to reflect the island's new location, and preparing a new (or an additional, if you want to keep both) weather feed you can subscribe to.
If you've got questions (and I'm sure you will!) ask them and we'll try to get them answered as soon as we can.
