I sort of worry that I've squandered my best chances to get to know you better. Like, I thought we sort of bonded a little bit in LA, but when we got back I went and hid in my room instead of making time to hang out with you, and now I'm pretty sure you've moved on and forgotten about that.

Eliot: I mean, it didn't work out. At all. Even a little bit. But I'm still thankful that you put me up to going back to see Carla. It hurt like nothing's hurt in a while, her telling me to leave, but I know she's okay, and she's happy, and I didn't realize until this weekend just how badly I needed to know that. It gives me hope that maybe my little siblings aren't as fucked up as I am, too.

Tip: You have a good head on your shoulders, kiddo, and I hope you don't make any of the same stupid-assed mistakes that I have. But you seem to be on the right track, even if you do seem to like poking hornets' nests in class, so I probably don't have to worry about you too much, huh?

Tip: ... You're one of the few people around here who seems to grasp that 'from another galaxy entirely' might mean there are a few issues when it comes to acclimating to the way of... people... here. I know it's because you've had previous experience dealing with alien life, but it's experience that I appreciate. You are a credit to your species and one of the reasons I came to appreciate this planet.

Jenkins: ... If anyone can speak about humans in a way that actually makes sense, it's you. It's something of a relief to know that there's somebody here who can.

I worry about you. I worry about you in a way I haven't worried about any of my students before, because I'm seeing so many broad strokes of an ugly place I found myself in a few years back. And I want so badly to tell you about just how ugly that place was, in the hopes that it'll help you realize that it's possible to come back from there, but at the same time I'm afraid that just saying it could drag you down all the more.

... Basically what I'm saying is that I want you to heal, and I'm shite at knowing what the hell to do to help you. I've always been in the company of healers, but I never was much of one, myself.

I think you and I might happen to have very different definitions of 'fun.'

Unless yours involves asking Imperial Officers in command of Star Destroyers what it is they're wearing just to piss them off. Then maybe we actually do have similar ideas of what it means.

Anyway, there's pretty much just one other person who could get away with calling me anything resembling 'kid,' and I buried him about a month and a half ago. So I would appreciate it if you don't get dead.

Raven: I'm hurt. Not that you haven't sought me out for dating again - well, maybe a little - but that you didn't ask me to help you with the fighting. We were friends, too, I thought. My knife would be yours, but you did not want it.

Jenkins: You seem to know a lot, and I'd like to share a bit more knowledge and conversation with you. I just wish I knew if the condescension was an intentional turn-off or if you're just that bad at people.

Eliot: We need to cook a meal together one of these days. Or at least compare recipes. I haven't seen you in too long, though I am glad neither of us has needed medical attention.

Pinkie: You are very enthusiastic. I appreciate that about you. Even if you aren't quite the good example of the island's eccentricities that your predecessor was.

Raven: Jono worries about you, and having met you that once since you came back, I think his instincts are correct. Please do take care of yourself.
